Here's some topics people don't mention much, now that the movie is out:

  1. What happened to the revelation of mysterio (Quenton Beck) as played by Bruce Campbell? Weren't we supposed to be informed about some sort of tie-in with the plot in the third flick.
  2. Flash Thompson is in a background scene at Harry's funeral, yet we are not given any more hints about his upcoming appearences as a friend or villain; will Flash Thompson make an appearence as a small time villain in a sequel?
  3. Man-wolf was also rumored to be in the third movie as written originally by Raimi (before being rewritten to include venom) played by Daniel Gillies. Is it likely that John Jameson (MJ's ex-boyfriend) will make more appearences in upsoming sequels as the much hated Man-wolf?
  4. The Lizard = Dr. Connors: This is pretty much self-explanitory.
  5. Finally, there was a brief glimpse of a hobgoblin-style mask in Harry's equipment room, just before he steps out of the chamber containing the green serum gas. Is it possible that Raimi is hinting about another goblin in upcoming sequels?
I would like to hear what you all have to say about the topic.

for that alone you should have this thread closed.:whatever:

1. They found a funnier role for Bruce. If he had played Mysterio, imagine the fan backlash.

2. I sincerely doubt Flash will even appear in another Spidey film.

3. I doubt it. Man-Wolf is hardly a top supervillain, and there are no suggestions towards him in Spidey 2 or 3. Besides, we've seen hundreds of werewolves on film; but never a man who can control electricity, for example.

4. I don't think Raimi will use the Lizard now. He's already told the story he wanted to tell about Connors, but then gave it to Doc Ock.

5. Again, I doubt it from Raimi atleast. His Goblin story is about father and son and their relationship with Peter, and it's all personal, i.e. "My arch enemy is my best friend/best friend's father!"

The Lizard could still very much work out for Spidey 4 if Raimi established a the paralels between what Connors' obsession with growing his arm back (and turning into a monster) does to his marriage, and Pete and MJ's newly-wed life. It has the potential to turn into a great story.

The chances are very good Raimi is gone. He wants to make The Hobbit and the price of bringing back Tobey, Dunst, and Raimi are going to be astronomical.

Especially if New Line is promising Raimi total creative freedom, whiel Sony just pressured him into using Venom. He may think its time to walk way.

However I do believe others like JJJ, Gwen,Aunt May are all contracted to return.

I really like Tobey inthe part and would hate to see him go.

No, Raimi's going to probably do SM4. He's been talking to Dylan Baker, according to reports on set, to get a bigger role in a certain upcoming sequel... so, it's safe to say.

Raimi just needs to take a break. He's been working really hard for a long time now and just needs to take some time off.

This should give you an idea- directly from SM2 he went into pre-production stage for SM3 and I'm sure it's the same for SM1-SM2 as well.

dr strange was also mentioned, but i'm pretty sure he won't be making a cameo..

Ummm...yes we have and his name was Dr. Doom.

Well if thats what he wants I dont think hes going to get it.

Theres been rumblings of May09 as the target for SM4.

I wouldnt mind him doing the next. I think the problems with SM3 were in the writting and with Koeppe doing the 4th I feel a bit better.

And as I said, though others have had problems with him, I love Tobey in the part and would hate to see him go. Raimi staying is a good way to keep Tobey for another.

Reports of Carnage in the next one - doesnt that put Raimi in the same place SM3 did creatively, where hes forced to compromise and isnt given total creative control? Raimi is clearly interested in Lizard, and IMHO Kraven would work better in that scenario than Carnage.

The question seems to me, will the studio be willing to pay the VERY high cost of keping Raimi, McGuire and Dunst around for SM4?

If they want what's best for the films with the general audience. Then yes, they will try to keep at the very least, Maguire and Dunst.

ALOT and I mean ALOT of people I talk to from the general public say they'd very very wary of seeing a Spider-Man 4 with out Tobey and Kirsten as Peter and MJ.

The Dr. Doom thing was screwed up in f4 and is hopefully being completely fixed. I'd actually like to see the Shocker and Rhino, not as the main guys but someone Spider-man fights in the beginning of the movie.

Yea thats been talked abotu as a good way to sqeeze another villian in there, making the fans happy about seeing another on film. Start a film with him capturing someone.

IMHO were going to see Electro in SM5.

Oh, Doom was done horribly. But, he was like Electro in FF.

Did people make stupid threads like this when Spider-Man 2 came out?

Mysterio is a stupid, B Class villain with a green jumpsuit and a purple cape AND a fishbowl on his head, enough said...Flash Thompson was there because he turned out to be a nice guy and went to a guy's funeral that he used to go to school with...Man-Wolf is just...dumb, wolves should be like Blade's job or something, not Spidey's problem...we were given hints to Lizard, just for the fact that if Raimi doesn't direct the next film, and if we get a crappy Lizard, we won't have to blame it on Raimi, he did give us hints...just like with Hobgoblin, if this was his last Spider-Man movie, he gives us hints to Lizard, Hobby and even Carnage to make us happy.

1. Nothing.
2. No.
3. I don't think so.
4. Is the most open choice.
5. No more goblins in Spider-Man, I think.

D!

Well, Arad told Raimi to put Venom in the movie, but, to me, Raimi did have a great amount of creative control in Spider-Man 3...Harry's story was basically fleshed out in Spider-Man 2, so he didn't really need anymore story from what he had in the third installment, so Flint Marko just needed the story, and seeing how he's not the best villain out there, his canon worked out pretty well for the movie, and that gave time for them to show off Eddie Brock...the rise and fall of him, so, it worked fine...and he was creative with the symbiote's look, how it crawled like a spider, and how the symbiote, aside from making Peter evil, Raimi showed how it also made him arrogant, and that's what I liked about the movie...two dancing scenes is a bit far-fetched, but it did show how Peter became cocky and it worked out fine...the final battle could've been slowed down a bit, but then again, it was ten minutes, and that's the last two final battles and then some (S-M was like four mins. and S-M 2 was like a mere two-three mins.), so to me, the whole movie worked out fine...good Spidey, to forty-five mins. of evil Spidey, and then the last part dealt with the final battle, and I am glad that the last part of the movie deals with Venom instead of having Sandman in the mix too...really thought Venom should've only been the villain in the final battle, but, oh well.

are you talking about the gold green goblin mask?
why do people think it was gold, it was just the lighting in the room that made it look like that, harrys mask was gold also, did everyone miss that sitting right next to it?

Some of those would have been cool to see, but seriously...as if there wasn't enough already splooged into this movie?
