HML X-men

I was talking about this on fwoosh and figured what everyone here thinks. Here is the breakdown of the HML figs so far.


X-men: A whopping 13 Banshee, Emma Frost, Movie Beast, Moive Jean Grey, Movie Juggernaut, Xorn, Ultimate Wolverine, Astonishing Cyclops, Marvel Girl, Danger, Movie Colossus, BAF Blob, BAF Brood Queen

Avengers/Captain America: 10 Hercules, Ultimate Iron Man, Thor, FA Captain America, Bucky, Yellow Jacket, Quicksilver, She-Hulk, Black Knight, Hydra Agent

Fantastic Four: 1 BAF Annihilus

Hulk: 1 Planet Hulk

I think that's a lot of x-men. Not two mention that x-men also gets two BAFs. I think that's too many really. I like the x-men, I do. It's just that I think they could make more variety in the waves. I know there are tons of x-men characters, but they are ****ing out the x-men way too much.

As much as I love the X-Men and want as many figures of them as possible, I do agree that Hasbro needs to cut back some on them. Every wave does not have to be 50% X-related, as all 3 of the waves so far are. Hopefully the ratios will improve once there are no more X3 figures included.

So far I have yet to even buy a hasbro ML.I'm just unimpressed so far.Out of everything on that list I'm only going to get Tor,She-hulk an Quicksivlver to complete my avengers line up.Other then that I can live with my current X-men roster and without X3 and ultimate figures.

There's a lot of X characters I'd still love. There hasn't been a good Forge or Maverick yet, so I'd like to see them done right...

i'd agree.. but X-men has the largest team in the marvel universe, with over 5 sub teams... and also in quantity of generally known characters in the marvel universe... in a general public, even amongst comic fans, more people know more X-men then lets say another huge team, like Avengers. So this doesn't suprise me at all, and i also see nothing wrong with it, its logical on fan basis, as well as marketing.

I don 't care if we get a wave of all x-men....three waves in a row, as long as they are all new characters and/or comic accurate versions of new costumes and ****.

Meh, I don't mind the X-men so much as their design. I wish they'd make an BAF Onslaught(The cool first version, the one that looked like Magneto) that's bigger than the BAF Sentinel and put it in a Jim Lee based X-men Wave.

After that, I'd pretty much be done with X-men.

I hope they keep the X-Men coming. When the line was debuted at SDCC last year, I was speaking to one of the guys I've grown to know from years of Star Wars coverage on Rebelscum and we go on about Alpha Flight, and it turns out a lot of the designers are Canadian, so we'll end up seeing them all in time. When I asked about classic X-men he told me they will in fact go back to earlier costumes in time, but not right away. The more X-men the better (so long as they stay away from that horrible period in the late 80's early 90's between the X-men in Australia until Lobdell writing the plots and Mad drew it). I know i'm likely in the minority here, but that entire Jim Lee era was horrible. I still don't understand what the heck was going on

I'm also not a hugefan of the Jim Lee Era in the comics. But I can't help it, I grew up on the Xmen TAS, the Jim Lee Era Costumes are Iconic for me.

The costume designs alone in that era bug me Especially Rogue (my favourite X-man).

In my eyes, the Paul Smith - John Romita Jr era was king, an now we're living the good life again with John Cassaday. (and as mentioned above, I also dug Joe Madurara's take)

Even if the stories in the Lee run weren't nonsense, the art was really hard to follow. (not unlike Chris Bachelo was a few years back)

-a proper New Mutants run circa NM21
-Psylock circa UXM 212 (yeah, I know... it was pink...)

-Kitty Pryde Astonishing X-men (the TB one sucks)
-Kitty Pryde circa UXM 180

I just wish they'd do more characters from other universes too though. The overflow of x-men is starting to kill it for me, and may end up being why I resign from the ML collecting business. Or at least I'll start getting only the figures that interest me and then buying the rest of the BAF parts that I might need off ebay (if I even need them).

yeah, i actually left some of the ones that are even more obscure off. I'd like to get a good bit more DD villians even though most of his enemies are hardly known. but he's one of my favorite characters and it would be cool to get enough baddies to give him his own shelf. Hopefully we'll get some hand ninjas sometime soon to help out.

Same goes with Iron Man, sure I could do an armory, but we need more baddies for him as well.


I guess my thing is, growing up, it was always more fun to have more villains than good guys when you played with any kind of action figures.

I would buy Squadron Supreme......

I want Nighthawn but that's because he made his way into 616 and joined the defenders, I would like Speed Demon, but for the sam reason only it was the thunderbolts....technically they were from Squadron Sinister. I would also like a Hyperion to have as an Exiles Villain and I woudn't mind a Power Princess for the Exiles..

Unless you meant the new Squadron Supremem......in which case I would buy them but I aint dying for them as they are technically just some more Ultimate Figures.
