The official studio excuse is the movie got so much support from fans they "deserve to see it first", but that sounds like total PR BS... As we know, when a studio doesn´t make those screenings, it usually means they know critics will tear the thing apart, and they don´t want the negative publicity prior to release... If it turns out to be a turkey, will be remembered as one of those movies that the Internet gave way too much hype to...

Heh, I'm not surprised at all by this. But this movie most likely has a really low budget, so if it makes even a third of the money most big summer blockbusters make, it'll come out alright.

The movie proably sucks, but its to late to scrap so they dont want bad reviews, to destroy the hype that has built up for this movie.

Wasn't this always supposed to be a so-incredibly-horrible-it's-sorta-good type of movie anyway?

god, finally... i've been saying it for months now, this movie is going to blow donkey, and no, not in a 'so bad it's good' way in a 'i'm a typical, but still below average actioner with a stupid premise that for some dumb reason the geek community latched onto' way.

You do realize that's the same thing as "so bad it's good" right?

Exactly what i thought,i mean no one actually thought the movie would be good did they ? i mean i figured we were all going to see Sam Jackson say "There's Snakes on the Mother****ing plane"

no... troll 2 is so bad it's good... this movie is not going to be 'not entertainingly bad' just bad. it's just going to be blah... it'll just be there. and then sam jackson, who hasn't done a worthwhile thing with his life since pulp fiction, will say 'mutha fu***** snakes on this mutha fu***** plane!" and for some stupid reason poeple will flip out about it.

this movie is going to blow.

Would Samuel Jackson really stoop so low to be in this movie????

Yes.

No, wait...yes.

I will say, I'm near positive it'll be better than Date Movie.

Not that means anything, of course.

you know what sucks? is that alot of interent movie buffs are going to see this movie for that same (forgive me, but dumb) reason, and they'll talk it up to their friends and family so they go see it... then the movie will suck, but make alot of money, and then those same movie geeks will come back to the forums and complain about why hollywod makes movies like this, even though they are in fact the reason.

Which in turn is better than Batman Begi...I'm sorry, I just can't finish that.

Well, when you look at some of the crappy movies Jackson has been in over the last recent years ("The Man," "SWAT," "xXx: State of the Union," and "Shaft" all come to mind), it shouldn't be that much of a surprise. He's done some really good stuff too, but it almost seems as if he's just taking whatever gets him a paycheck and the opportunity to call himself a "bad motherf**ker."

Everyone wants to see it because of how bad it looks, reviewers aren't really nessassary...

One thing's for sure. As bad as this movie will probably be, it will certainly better than its forthcoming rip-off, "Snakes on a Train" (yes, there REALLY is such a film coming out, however it will be direct-to-video).

Boggles the mind, doesn't it? A movie comes out that TRIES to be bad, and some other studio has to copy it and make it even worse. I understand making cheap knock off versions of movies like Lord of the Rings or Star Wars, but Snakes on a Plane? It makes me wonder, if I make a movie called "Ticks in a Taxi," will someone else come out with "Locusts in a Limo?"

The weird part is that it already got a review over at AICN, and it was pretty good.

Hold on now! SWAT and Shaft kicked ass! I don't care what nobody says!

Like others have said.... this is a movie where the critics really don't matter in the scheme of things. The only reason anyone's going to see this is to see exactly what the title tells you --- Snakes on a Plane. It's pure, ****ty b-movie entertainment much like a modern variation of all those classic, cheesy B-movies you'd see popping up everywhere in the 1950's, grouped together with the most self-explanatory movie title of all time.... personally, I can't wait. ;)

....And of course, gotta be there just to hear Samuel Jackson finally say the infamous line. :o :D

Its not like the general public has been paying attention to the critics lately anyway.

Well, SWAT was passable, I suppose... but Shaft? Dude, that movie had one of the worst excuses for a plot I've ever seen.

Sam Jackson just wanted to do something stupid and fun for a change, he said so himself that he signed on without even reading the script...all he had to do was read the title and he said, "I'm there!"

He knows this is gonna be pretty dumb movie, but its exactly what he signed on for.

I think he's just think he's trying to prove a point.

He's the Goddamn Sam Jackson, and anything with him in is watchable. Even if it's about Snakes......on....a......er...plane.....

Well aren't you bitter.

Anyways, the first review has it pegged as good.
