Hmmmm... did Avatar take from Delgo?

What the **** is Delgo?

But seriously, the shots they showed in the video is grasping at straws. Oh wow, 2 people standing close to each other about to kiss, never seen that before...

Every single thing takes something from something else

The script from Avatar was online way before Delgo was even in production, the theory is that the creators from Delgo read the script leaked online and stole from it!

If the question was did Avatar take from Pochahontas it would be a much more interesting thread. :o

yeah if anything he took from pochahontas
the bird creature is the only coincidence here i think

Delgo made what? 10 cents at the box office? Avatar made a billion times that much.

So no, Avatar did not take from this movie.

as stupid as this thread is, your post is actually far worse. what you just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things i have ever heard.

It reminded me more of The Eternal Champion by Michael Moorcock to be honest.

avatar stole from a dinosaur sized piece of s***.

nothing is original, anymore...
people have been telling stories for thousands an thousands of years, for anyone to even think that their ideas are original, that only they could of thought of it, is just ridiculously

rather his story was 100% original or not... I give him credit for going live action...

comparing it to an animated movie is kinda silly

See, threads like this are part of the reason why I dont post here much these days...

This has truly opened my eyes.

Hmmm

Avatar, originally written in 1995...

Delgo, some unknown POS that no one saw when it was released in 2008-ish

Yeah no.

You dont need to bend over backwards to explain where Avatar comes from. Its pretty much the essence of E. R. Burroughs stories + the reality of corporate rape of Native civilizations + Camerons experience as an underwater explorer + a good dose of DMT hallucinogenic experiences, hell throw in a heavy dose of Heavy Metal as well. That pretty much covers the entire movie.

Its just like the Matrix, people were bending over backwards to try and find **** to pin on it, trying to find out where the Ws got (read: stole) their story from. Its like, come on, its a pure diet of William Gibson, Anime, HK flicks the traditional Hero's Journey formula. Thats all there is to it.

NO.

Most all adults, which is what James Cameron is, are too wrapped up in their own work to bother with blatantly using some other work as an outline in a complete and total act of plagiarism.

Plagiarism is an issue for the school type people SO THEY DON'T BLATANTLY COPY AND TRY AND PASS OFF AS THEIR OWN.

C'mon now...

26 letters in the alphabet(A-Z)
only 10 unique numbers(0-9)
10 or so genres(drama, suspense, action, adventure, sci-fi, fantasy, romance, comedy, animated)
only around 9 basic colors(black, blue, indigo, violet, green, red, orange, yellow, white)
5 senses(sight, sound, taste, touch, smell)
2 sexes(male, female)
and well let's not forget the ole saying "it's all been done before"

Not a stretch that things will look similar. ESPECIALLY when you know how things work and realize that it is very possible that the work James Cameron was doing on Avatar simply paved the way for this other thing.

It's been my experience that the one leading generally does not get to the goal first but when it does it shows you why it's the actual first. The one feeding the other lesser ones, in this case Avatar, gets the praise because it did not plagiarize.
