Holiday Shopping for that special comic book geek!

With about 2 weeks left for Christmas and other Holidays (Damn Chanukah!) I thought it would be cool to get a nice list of gifts for that special comic book fan of your choice. Recommendations and such, comic books, graphic novels, novels, toys, statues, video games etc.


I think the biggest Holiday item of the year for any comic geek this year is easily DC: New Frontier Absolute Edition. Really, any comic book geek would love this to be an additon to their bookshelf.

Well, I was doing some last minute shoping for my sister, her usband, and my nephew. They live in another country, so I had to ship it right away and I was already behind. So, I just ran into my comic book store and bought my sister the first volume of Fables, my brother in law the first volume of Transmetropolitan, and my nephew a Star Wars: Clone Wars comic.

I don't make very much money. And since when was getting Transmet for someone a bad thing?

There are 11, actually. And I'm sorry, but not all of uss carry 100 dollar bills stuffed into our wallets like fives.

On a related note, last year my dad got the aformentioned brother in law the final volume of Preacher.

Yes. In fact, while he's yet to read them, I often discuess them with him. Usually their themes and allusions to the "spaghetti westerns" of the past. He's also read Transmetropolitan, and he went to see Sin City with me.

Although, I really don't like any comic readers I know enough to justify spending the $$$ on that statue ...or the Invincible books for that matter.

If I had to pick out comic-related things, I'd say "League of Extraordinary Gentlemen: The Black Dossier", which supposedly just came out, but I can't find a copy for the life of me.
