Here it is: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/hollywood-steroid-use-a-list-609091
There is a new article in the latest issue of Hollywood Reporter about steroid use in Hollywood where they reckon about 20% use it.

But the most interesting bit is at the very start where they hint at an actor who has used it. Below is that bit.
In 2005, a 30-something actor on the precipice of superstardom began prepping for a lead feature role that required ample spotlight on his abs. The actor met with the film's trainer and outlined the performance-enhancing drugs, including human growth hormone (HGH), he already had been taking. The trainer, a firm believer that a chiseled physique should be achieved naturally, recused himself from working with the actor.
"He told me that HGH made him feel like nothing else ever made him feel," recalls the trainer, who declined to be identified out of respect for trainer/trainee confidentiality. "He was basically addicted. I told him to find another trainer. He did."
That actor, now an A-lister continues to cash in on his impressive torso.
...In 2005... 300 was shot at the end of 2005 (from October) so the training had began earlier in the year

a 30-something actor on the precipice of superstardom... Gerard Butler was 35 when he began training for 300

So is it Gerard Butler
they are referring to? Or perhaps Daniel Craig in Casino Royale though Craig doesn't fit all of the points above?

I read this expose and found it mildly diverting but I still don't see what the big deal is? As long as they aren't abusing them.

I can't choose between the two, for some reason I'm thinking Butler but who knows?

If actors want to take steroids, go ahead. Their job is to make-believe so I don't really care about how they build muscle.

Yeah, I really do not give a flying f*** if actors are using steroids.

I don't think it's a good image to present but it's not the same thing as an athlete abusing them either. At this point it's also only a claim that an "A-Lister" has been taking them.

I think maybe two or three people in this world actually care about actors using steroids. Acting and sports are totally different.

Neither is smoking and drinking or eating fatty food but actors do that all the time. They sleep around and cheat as well.

I bet it's Mila Kunis. There's no natural explanation for the incredible muscle mass that girl has.

I think it may matter only if someone claims they got in shape via a regimen when they were actually juicing. That would be my only beef, if they just straight up lied.

Eh. This isn't really something I care to pay much attention to, but looking at Mel Gibson getting ready for The Expendables 3 recently, that's definitely one that screams PED-use.

You still have to put in work at the gym and with your diet to get results when youre using PEDs. So if an actor who was on PEDs says they did so and so in the gym, theyre not lying. Theyre just conveniently leaving out the part where theyre using gear as well.

Yeah, hes on some type of gear.

I dont have a problem with actors using PEDs to get in shape for a role or for personal fitness and I dont see why its even an issue.

I understood the issue people had either. For sports, I can understand. But for a role or for personal fitness, who cares? Sylvester Stallone has been juicing for years. However, he is actually doing more work in the gym than people who aren't juicing. Steroids aren't magic.

There's more stigma to "cheating" your way to more muscle with PEDs. Not that any of the things you mentioned are good examples but they aren't the same thing as using steroids, hormones or other enhancers.

Gerard Butler isn't getting roles for his "impressive torso" anymore. :funny: So they might have been talking about him at the time, but he's definitely since relaxed.

It's make-believe, and they often are working with limited time. Whatever gets the look that they want, and aren't killing themselves for it, it's fine.

Gerard Butler isn't an A lister. Never was.

Also, who cares?

The article could very well be talking about Butler but who knows. Also, he was never a A- List actor. Today he is like a low B lister almost a C list actor.

Meh, who cares?

Tons of people also talked about acne being a side effect of steroid use and pointed out the huge acne rash all over Tom Hardy in TDKR.

It's not like the actors aren't still working hard to get in shape, and they're working on limited time frames to get in the shape the director wants. Also, they're not "competing" against anybody.

Most  part of the article, IMO.

A 2012 study conducted by the University of Minnesota found that teens are using steroids and muscle-enhancing substances at higher rates than previously thought. Nearly 6 percent of boys in the survey reported using steroids, while the rate among girls was 4.6 percent.

So, almost as many teen GIRLS are using steroids as guys?! When the frack did this happen???

And if so...why am I still the only damn woman in the gym using the power rack doing 45-lb plates???:huh:

Unless its giving them bigger **** I don't see the upside.

Steroids give you man ****, they don't give you woman ****.

Birth control gives most women ****.

Women's sports don't usually focus on strength either, so they might be using PEDs to help with energy but steroids, I really don't see...

I doubt it's butler.
IF you read the article you'll see that the trainer of Gym Jones is also mentioned . He had said to WB and the reps of Cavill that he wouldn't allow roid use for Cavill. He had to do it on his own.
Considering that Gym JOnes guys also trained Butler ( and pretty much everyone in every Zah Snyder movie since 300) i doubt it Gerard Butler

Besides, Butler hasn't even taken his shirt off in any action movie he's done since then.

20% :funny:

Just yesterday i saw some of Mad Mel photos about ex3...lol at those balloon arms.

All this actors that bulk up for specific movies resort to hgh or any other hrt.
