Home Has Been Delayed

Well personally with no way to get online right now at college it doesn't make a big deal but I still wouldn't mind too much. According to beta testers many of the features promised weren't available yet so might as well wait so we can enjoy everything at once

They wanted to make sure everything was perfect and that all features worked globaly. I can wait. I'd rather have something late and perfect than rushed and flawed.

At this rate they should just launched the PS3 in Spring 08

Ironically, Sony originally intended to launch the PS3 during this timeframe, but later decided to move up their plans (not at the last minute or anything) because of the Wii/360 and HD format war. At least that's the talk.

Eitherway we've heard that Sony was still working on finalizing the some tools for third parties and that they wouldn't have delivered them in time to third parties for them to make use of them come launch. Pushing it back is Sony probably wanting to do this 'right', instead of having home be this huge W.I.P. come launch.

Phil Harrison interview @ Gamespot:

Talking about Home, the executive said as far as he was concerned, the release delay meant nothing had changed. He said, "We will still be opening in late November/early December for general beta testing. So, the commercial start of Home will be pushed out later, but you will still get the experience this year."

They also said they were doing an Open Beta in July / August & we still have no reason as to why that did not happen. I do not have much faith in Sony when it comes to their words if you ask me. I am not believing anything until I am actually playing Home.
