Why is this in the Watchmen (Spoilers) thread?

i, much like a homeless redheadded step child, had nowhere else to go.

I am making one now actually.

There are two popular ways:

One is to simply make a hood from a thin white T-Shirt and paint the black splotches onto it.

I am doing it a different way. What I am doing is taking an Under-Armor-type shirt, taking it apart and sewing it together. I think the material is best and then cutting out the splotches, and then sewing a see through black stocking underneath for better vision.

Thats a pretty damn good idea. I think i might steal it. :cwink:

I think you have to qualify the use of the term "popular"... Like in the sense of being "popular" among nerds (most likely grown men) who spend their leisure time making super-hero costumes then post about it on forums for like-minded nerds.

There are popular ways of doing certain elite forms of rocket science, there are popular ways of operating on incredible rare diseases, and there are popular ways of making obscure comic book character costumes.

Just because a large section of the population in-total don't do it doesn't mean it is not popular among those who do.

So keep me updated on your costume Norman. I'll do the same.

What kind of fabric do you suggest for breathing and vision purposes?

I am still figuring that out. I have everything but the mask ready for my costume, and sadly after purchasing a car (meaning monthly insurance and loan payment) and getting my own apartment starting in August (rent :() my costume money has been slowed.

I have an old black under armor shirt which is actually quite transparent when pulled tightly enough. I am trying to find a way to work it so that would serve my purposes.

my only problem with the second one is that it may look like there are holes in his face as opposed to Rorschach ink blotches. unless you were to cut holes from the white shirt then sew in black parts so it would look more uniform but that could also ending up looking really messy

Here is mine so far:

I've decided to attempt to make a Rorschach costume myself. I'm going to be visiting the local thrift store for a pinstripe suit, some gloves, a scarf, etc. and stocking up on purple fabric dye. Wish me luck.

Wow, lucky you! I'm really, really tall...never had much luck with Goodwill stores. I'm going to check it out, anyway.
