Honestly, Topher Grace..

It's when people say Venom was screwed up in the movie based on his size that makes me question if they even know what they're talking about. Venom hasn't always been a hulk of muscle. Sometimes he was, other times he wasn't. It's artist interpretation. You may like the big Venom, but I think it'd look dumb to have a ******ed CGI hulking Venom in contrast with the characters of this film.

They did what suited the film best, and used the COMICS as inspiration. People deny that, but it's fact.

Boom. Right there. And that's before Spider-Man 3. He was pretty much that size in the film, if not bigger. The face was more based of Bagley's design I think though.

So you can say what you want about the character, but the size is a stupid argument.
I have to agree. I mean, I think it was obvious that Sam wasn't gonig for the huge bulky Venom. If you think about it, Sam wanted Eddie Brock to be the exact oppsite of Peter parker, which is one of the reasons I think they made Venom around the same height as Spider-Man in the film.

The Ultimate Universe is really the exception in this case. In all other media, including 616, Eddie Brock is built like a jock.

That is not true. Go look at my post.

Your post was talking about Venom based on artist interpretations. I'm talking about Eddie Brock, who I haven't seen too many artist draw as scrawny as Tropher, at least not the cancer-free Brock. As I said in response to the Ultimate Eddie point, skinny Brock is usually the exception among a standard of bigger Brocks. Even both animated series have him pretty well built.

Btw- I had no problems with how Venom looked. Though I wish he didn't do that screech thing, but it was no biggie.

I liked those sounds. Better than using like a lion roar or some stupid thing. They caught me off guard but in a good way.

:awesome:

But yea seriously, the character or lack there of was the big problem.

Agreed.

But I think his motives for hating Spidey were vastly superior to the ones he had in the comics. That is one thing Raimi undeniably improved upon.

Yea the actual reason to turn on Pete was ok. But I'd of liked maybe a scene where Brock goes home, maybe to an alcoholic father or something like that. Not to get him the sympathy vote, but just to show that his life is completely different to Peter's. And that could of led to him hating Peter even more, a kind of jealousy thing too.

Well, there were some cutted scenes that were something like that like Eddie in a bar or him trying to get Gwen back only to be throwned out by Captain Stacy.

Topher definately wasn't afforded the proper screen time and I wish they hadn't killed him off either. I liked Topher in the role just not how Venom was presented mostly.
If he kidnapped Sandman's daughter that would of been a good and i guess that was in the game .

Also I liked the Idea of him being Pete's size.

I like Topher Grace and I honestly think he would be the ideal Spider-Man but he didn't do bad as Venom (the film's version of Venom).
