Sounds like it has potential to be great.
Mark Canton To Produce Honor For Sale
About cops pulling off a heroin heist
Source: Variety Busy day for Mark Canton.
Not only did the producer of 300 (amongst other films) sign a deal with Pterodactyl Prods to bring Hopalong Cassidy to the big screen after decades away, he also picked up the rights to a story so invigorating that its already spawned three great movies.
Canton has picked up Honor For Sale, a book by Gerald Kelly about a gang of New York narcotics cops in the 1970s who actually ran the biggest heroin distribution ring at that time. This involved pulling off a massive heroin heist that inspired elements of both French Connection movies and Ridley Scotts American Gangster.
So much for New York's Finest, huh? Still, should make for a hell of a story.
The script for the movie was adapted by the late John Bishop, and Canton will produce as he will on Hopalong Cassidy with Pterodactyls Aaron Peters and Ivan Cohen.
Sounds like it has potential to be great.
