Horror Film Assessment! Need Helps!

Hey Hypers!!

I'm doing a film genre assignment on Horror film and need to compare two films. I want to compare gender survivors!

I have my film with the female survivor but I need to think of a film with a male survivor!

Help Hypers?

How about Ash from the Evil Dead movies. There not that many males that are the lone survivors in a horror movie. Its mostly always just been a female that makes it out alive but sometimes a male & female both survive.

How about Andy Barclay from the Child's Play movies, he faced Chucky 3 different times & survived.

Corey Feldman in FT13 part 4, and the character (although not Feldman) survived again in part 6 is a good example...although Ash in Evil Dead would be best

The policeman from the Scream movies always survives, but he's not the only survivor. But this is a good question.

Hhhm...

I'd say that women survive usually because they are seen as a more innocent, life associated being (maybe rebirth after the event as well). With the men (usually) all dead there is usually a sense of depowerment (as the stronger, typically more robust guardian archtype) as the males are killed last.

Thanks for your help guys, yeah, I'm doing my essay on the gender roles in horror movies, Male Survivor Vs. Female survivor.

I was going to do Evil Dead, but was wondering if there was a less satire-ish movie with a lone male or "Last male" survivor.
