thats a kinda crappy move. sell the costume everyone wants with a crap head and then sell the costume no one really wants with 2 frikkin amazing head sculpts so if you want a really great joker you have to buy both.

Yeah HT is getting pretty good at that. Sell the first version with an inferior sculpt, then release a second version with an extra, superior sculpt to replace the first one. Good way to get people to double dip.

That was not their intention. They started to make the first figure a looong time ago before production on the movie started and they had very little to work with. They wanted the figure out in time for the movie and that is why they did it. Now that the movie is out and they have more references and have seen it they can perfect the sculpt, and that is what they did.

Well here are some things mentioned from the article.

1. At the time of development of "version 1" the Hot Toys team didn't have a lot of material to work with. After seeing the movie Yulli and JC Hong saw room for improvement especially with the Joker's expression and posture. So when plans for the "Bank Robbery" Joker were brought up they decided to redo the sculpt. As a matter of fact they went for two expressions to better represent the Joker. This "serious" approach to present the Joker seems to contradict the Joker's very own "why so serious?" line, but it is to the benefit of collectors.

2. Release date in November (delays are normal with Hot Toys though so don't be surprised if it is bumped to December).

3. The neck post is done in a way so that the Joker's hunch can be accomplished.

CANNOT WAIT! LOOKS INCREDIBLE!!

The only thing I will mention though is that the shirt could do with being a bit more blue and I hope the mask isn't too big. Other than that....wow! Comes with the M76 machine gun!!!! And grenades in the bag!

That Headsculpt is much more Heath. They must have taken note of all the comments on boards like this. I'm glad I've already preordered this.

I think I'll end up swapping the heads around - then stick the Clown mask on the original HT Head onto the Bank Robber body.

Or just put the clown mask on the second 'slicked hair' head that comes with this also?

The mask will not fit on the ver 1 head for sure.

dont buy this ppl! hot toys is just givin you a run for your money. your basically paying 175 dollars for a variant head and a few weapon assesories. if you buy this, they will continue to milk this cow and make more lame variant figures.
