I thought it was already in production. Get a move on, HBO.
HBO Max has a USP now, with all the cinematic premieres, to raise subscribtions
this series ain’t so urgent right now
Looking good! Also, the set pics confirm they've changed the sigil of House Velaryon back to a Hippocampus, instead of a literal seahorse. The design had originally been the mythical half-horse/half-fish, but Martin eventually corrected that. And now they've reverted to the beast, presumably because it looks more bad***. Which is fine, as long as we keep the sea-green and silver color scheme.
Corlys Velaryon with silver...dreadlocks. Is he a practising Rastafarianism? hehe
It made sense - Corlys Velaryon with silver hair signified old Valyria bloodline. IIRC, in the book his appearance hasn't been described, also his mother & paternal grandmother were both unknown. Additionally, the Velaryons came to Westeros long before the Targaryens.
While I'm a little concerned by how dark the green on Corlys is (I need my sea-green & silver merch, darnnit!) other than that he looks incredible. I can't wait for the general audience to find out how uch of a bad*** the Sea Snake is!
Definitely Harrold Westerling. He's the last main character without a confirmed casting and McTavish certainly fits the bill of aging, bad*** knight. I'm interested to see how they differentiate him from Barristan. (And also just now remembering that show fans will have no point of reference to House Westerling since they swapped Jeyne for Talissa)
Loved outlander! And this guy is one of my favorite actors. Fingerscrossed.
Warner Bros Leavesden Opens Virtual Production Stage – Deadline
‘House Of The Dragon’: Milly Alcock & Emily Carey Join ‘GoT’ Prequel – Deadline
The second I saw the dark haired actress, I knew she would be playing a younger Olivia Cooke.
Ryan Condol confirmed we'll be seeing THREE Valyrian swords in Season 1 - With the 3rd most likely being House Hightower's ancestral sword 'Vigilance.' I can't wait to see the designs for it, 'Dark Sister' and 'Blackfyre.'
Also, this raises the question of if we'll meet Otto's unnamed older brother, who would presumably be Lord of Oldtown and wielding 'Vigilance' when the series begins. Perhaps something Daemon does will get the brother killed, adding to Otto's animosity towards him?

'House of the Dragon': Olivia Cooke Describes Her "Complex" Queen in 'Game of Thrones' Prequel
After 8 seasons of Cersei's BS and dragon glass plot armor, I dont really want another conniving selfish queen in a GOT show. Do something different.
If properly adapted, Alicent shouldn't really be anything like Cersei. I get the comparisons based on the basic role description. But while Cersei was plain evil and a narcissist, Alicent is genuinely out for the good of her family. She's not a BAD person. But she wants her son on the throne and, along with Otto, is justifiably terrified of the prospect of Daemon as king.
House of the Dragon: George R.R. Martin Reveals High Number of Dragons Expected to Appear in Game of Thrones Prequel
Looks good. A bit odd, I think, to just drop it in the middle of the night, but still good.
