"Hoverboards" using lifter technology

After seeing that the Nike Mags are available now (with the self-lacing feature available in 2015) and I got to thinking: where the crap are the hoverboards?!

I've been doing some research the last few hours and it seems that everybody is leaning towards the anti-gravity methods (which are near impossible) and not paying attention to much of anything else. I came across "lifter technology"



Just seems to me that if a guy can build one of those in his house/garage, why can't a million dollar science division make a floating skateboard? LOL. I read this article:

And it seems that they are experimenting with a few things on the subject. Maybe some of our science professors here can chime in.
