A sequel makes no sense, since all the main characters buy the farm. But they could make multiple prequels, all leading up to the battle at thermopylae.

Leonidas becoming King
Leonidas Training
Leonidas gettting the Persians Pissed

I think there is enough back story on it

What's left , though i didn't watch the film yet , how Leo and gorgo met each other ........... how xerxes became king

We don't need a sequel but let's be realistic. WB is probably racking their brains right now on how they can go about continuing this franchise in some fashion. It wouldn't shock me if they actually got Frank Miller himself to write new comics JUST to base them off of, just like Sin City 2.

what build up do you wnat? The Persians marching and sailing? The only thign that would be in a prequel would be the Greek factions talking about whether or not to unite against Persia. It would just be political. Ther eis no point.

Well, most of the prequel stuff wouldn't deal too much with Sparta, but mostly Athens. They were the ones that dealt with the Persian Empire before the story of 300.

right, so it would be a pointless prequel. Leonidas (to my knowledge) wasn't involved in Marathon or anything, and up until Thermopylae, all the fightin gdone by Xerxes was walking through a few villages and having them join him. The rest was just getting the damned army over to Greece. That movie would suck.

prequal....why? No, one is great, a second would ruin the epic feel of the first, iconic one

Watch them make a video game like they did with Scarface. I can see it now...

"What if Leonidas and the 300 hadn't died, play the fearless king as he tracks down Xerxes and finishes the job the spear started!!! Come see Revenge of the King!!!"

No continuation is needed. Some movies work perfectly as a standalone story.

IMO, no prequel or sequel. But I welcome an extended version of the movie for DVD release. An additional hour perhaps?
