The Dark Knight How are you treating Spoilers around the release?

As the topic title says, how are you guys going to treat Spoilers around the release of the movie?
Will you still be trying to find out all you can, will you only be reading non-spoiler reviews, or will you just not visit this or other sites until you see the film?

I'm as yet undecided lol, I think I'll just be reading the reviews to know if the movie is good or not!

How about yourselves?

Don't come to this forum, it is marked SPOILERS for a reason.:woot:

I'm torn as well. Reading detailed descriptions of trailers, then watching them, doesn't seem to ruin the experience for me. I'm just not sure if that will work for the film itself.

I think I'll be steering clear of the boards starting in late June/early July. I already believe that I know too much...if I saw the Two-Face reveal outside of the theatres, I'd cry like a 10 year old girl. (the figure doesn't count. :P )

Zero tolerance. I won't watch the trailer. I won't read the reviews. I propably just check out the rotten tomatoes percentages because TDK opens July 25th here in Finland so there's se7en days between that and the US release.

It's just a matter of replacing an addiction with an another addiction. I'll try to think about TDK as little as possible and instead concentrate on movies like Iron Man, Hellboy, X-files 2 and maybe Hancock. It takes all these four movies to replace TDK in my mind. And STILL TDK overshadows them but thinking and hyping these other interesting movies certainly helps the cause!

I don't know. Even if I got spoiled (which I'd rather not) I'm sure it will still be badass when you see it on the big screen anyway.

Enough so that it won't really make a large difference.

I will watch the trailer, there's just no way I can resist that. I think the TV spots won't have much new footage, so it might be safe to watch them as well. But I will definately be careful. I will avoid reviews that contain spoilers like the plague. Over here TDK opens on July 24.

It's not gonna be so tough on you guys living in the US around release... But others (inlc. my selvf) who has to wait another week to see the movie (July 25'th) wouldn't be able to go anywhere on these boards, cause spoilers and TDK-talk will be all over the place, it's unavoidable! I wont really mind the hype, just as long as I'm hearing the movie rocks, than I'm glad!

I think I'll stay off the boards, but I will probably go to the lounge, unless some barges in a ruins the whole movie for us. It will most likely happen.

I just KNOW that I wont be able to stay away from rottentomatoes.com ones the reviews starts rolling in!... That site is more or less always right on it's judgements. And with TDK I NEVER wanna see the tomato-meter go below 90%!!! (of course, if I had it my way it should read a clear 100%)

I am going to watch the new trailer and the first few tv spots, but once July starts I will try to avoid any Dark Knight spoilers and discussion until I have seen the movie.

Most people here seem to be "against" reading spoilers for TDK...

I'm kinda partial to reading spoilers, cause I dont see a point in avoiding them, really...

TDK is a Batman movie, so right from the start, I pretty much know everything there is to know about the movie. I know the Joker is in it. I already know who the Joker is (from the comics, tv, etc.), what he does, how he will act... I know Batman will fight the Joker... I know Batman will live... I know Harvey turns into Two-Face... I know pretty much HOW Harvey turns into Two-Face... I know Alfred, Gordon won't die... I know Gordon will become Comissioner eventually... I pretty much know Batman's character and can take an educated guess as to the internal battle he will face in the film... I mean, for the most part, because this movie is based on a comic book character with decades of established history, I pretty much can take educated guesses as to everything that will happen in TDK

So in a way, because I know a lot about Batman, TDK is already spoiled.

A movie like Cloverfield is a movie I would avoid spoilers. That movie was a mystery, it was marketed as a mystery, and I didn't know anything about it. But Batman...is...well...Batman. I know what I am getting before I even get it. So... I may be tempted to read spoilers before TDK's release. That doesn't mean I won't enjoy the film and go see it five, six times... :)

I will read a review or two, but I stopped reading spoilers a few months ago. I know a little bit of the plot, but not enough. This is kinda how I saw Begins. I didn't know too too much going in, and I loved it.

I'm going to avoid them. I've been spoiled enough.
I'll be on vacation from the end of May until the day before the release (Las Vegas, San Diego, San Francisco, DC and finally Miami). So I'll have sightseeing to distract me. And if the Viral Campaign isn't over before July, I'll be checking the boards only related to TDK VMC. I'll also be checking for new merchandise. That's about it tho.

That is some vacation...

i will run away from this forum as soon as it gets to around late june. then i will be back to discuss the film for around six months...and then probably hand in my shh badge...........

.........until Batman 3

Im a TV and movie spoiler addict because it prepares me not to be disappointed. It does not affect my tv and movie experience whatsoever
but ofcourse not knowing anything is the better way to go when it comes to television and the movies. That's the edge of BB for me because I just took it for the way it is not overhyping it and not bothering with every news and spoilers. Deep down I knew it would be good but people's behavior towards BB that time were more cautious because the former Batman films scarred them.

... is anyone else going to cut back on their visitations to this board (and all things batman) in an attempt to mentally erase the spoilers. I know a lot of people are going to cutout batman from their vocabularies for the next 30 or so days just so the movie feels more fresh when they see it.

I've visited this board quite frequently, read all the little tidbits of info, seen the pics, read the plot-lines and stuff and I think staying away from the hype and the spoilers will increase my enjoyment of the film when I actually see it in theaters.

Is anyone else intending on cutting back on the spoilers/early reviews/hype in an attempt to better your movie experience?

I'll probably lay off the boards a week before TDK, just to stay away from spoilers

Nope!

I'll be here til the bitter end :hoboj:

Knowing me Alan Partridge, knowing you Christopher Nolan.

Not now but there will come a point probably in the next 2 weeks where someone posts a legitimate massive spoiler. After reading it I'll call it quits until I see the film. Until then I'll be lurking in the shadows.

i liek spoilers, its get me pumped to see those things in the film
