What I don't understand is how an adult can listen to that ****. That happy hardcore ****, or whatever you wanna call it. I'm talking about the really cheesy stuff. That really cheesy, fast rave/dance music with all the chipmunk voices, or women "singing" about castles in the sky, all that bollocks. The music has no structure to it. Most of the time these "DJs" steal other peoples work and just make it crap . I don't think there is a single good song that doesn't have a crappy "rave remix".

I work in a call centre for BT. In my bay, this dude that must be about 28 was listening to that ****. I remember one "song" in particular. It was some sort of Eminem remix. You know that Eminem song where he sorta laughs over and over "Hahahaha", like that? Well that's what this song was... for about 10 minutes. I was seriously sitting there thinking to myself... the guy that "mixed" this thing, did he mix it to purposely make it as obnoxious and annoying as possible??? I swear to god, for like ten minutes the whole thing was just rave beats and Eminem's voice going "hahahaha" over and over and over. For 10 minutes.

I can understand why someone would dance to **** like cheesy hardcore music. But to play it in work? Or to sit in your bedroom and listen to it? As a grown man????? HOW??? How can you sit and listen to it?

It's just offensive on so many levels.

I have one theory. Adults that sit and listen to this crap. Their heads are in the clouds. They are rather naive people, a bit sensitive, afraid of trying new things. I know this because my sister listens to the cheesy dance stuff sometimes. It's just awful music. As much as I love all my family, the personality I described fits my sister. I mean, she's nearly 31 and still lives at home. She's afraid of the real world.

kainmeedo, your such a badass. I bet you wear a dog collar, and drink some beers. You should seriously consider signing up for UFC. YOU ARE SO BAD!

One would say that someone your age shouldn't still be living at home while others say that once someone is 18 and out of high school they should fend for themselves.

And the first thing is a matter of taste. I could sit in my office listening to show tunes. Would that be considered normal in your eyes? What if it was just alternative or punk music? Oh then it'd be okay. If you don't like his music, unless it's making working difficult, I say you suck it up and let him enjoy it.

alot of kids move out the house when theyre 18 go to the dorms, then after they graduate go back home.

It did make work rather difficult, yes.

Sure, taste is taste. An opinion is an opinion. But there is such a thing as good and bad taste. And I say if you're an adult, bringing that crap into work with you, you have bad taste. And I say this not just because I personally disdain the genre, not just because I find it annoying and obnoxious. I say this because the DJs are talentless.

Sometimes when you don't like a piece of music, you can still think "yeah i can see what's good about it", or "that's good, but not what I'd prefer to listen to". The DJs that produce the chipmunk songs and the other rubbish... they are talentless. They steal music from other musicians, put a beat into it, speed it up... and that's all they do. Seriously. That's about half of the genre, if not more, right there.

The rest of it, it has no structure or pacing. It's just fast for the sake of fast with beats for the sake of having beats. And like I said before, I could understand why a person would dance to it in a rave, but it just defies the laws of logic that a person could sit and listen to it quite happily in work, or at home.

The so-called Tunning music. Now that sucks. I'm very much into electronic music but that stuff just makes me wanna puke.

happy hardcore is fantastic:confused:

it takes all your favourite songs and speeds them up so they sound like they are on helium, what could possibly be wrong with that

ps, it's by far the best genre of music to revise to....

go out and buy all 'BONKERS' disc sets now....

Wait do you mean like techno or dance music? Maybe you could take some E and meet a nice girl at one of those Raves.

Are we talking about like club music? Yeah I dont nkow how people can listen to that in their car in rush hour traffic.

What does Entourage have to do with techno??

Oh wiat...I get it...:O

My question for kaindemo is: Why do oyu care? If you don't like it don't listen...or are you learning to like it for a certain someone you ahve feelings for?? :o

Good taste and bad taste are completely subjective. Same with the music one chooses to listen to.

There's music I don't listen to, however I don't log onto a message board and ***** and moan like a 4 year old because someone likes something that I don't. I just say "cool" and continue on with my life.

WRONG!! Bad taste and good taste, there is such a thing! Contrary to popular believe, there are right and wrong opinions too. People that can listen to silly happy hardcore in their car loud enough for pedestrians to be deafened by it, people that listen to it in a CALL centre where you are supposed to be calling people, people that can sit and listen to it at home... there is a problem with this. Is it a psychological problem or a society problem, who knows. It so often appeals to the same type of people... like joyriders. That's not to say that I blame rave music for turning people into drug dealers or joyriders. I'm just saying... it appeals to certain types of people. Guys that can't grow up for one. Closed minded people being another.

Closed minded... example. In high school, I had to put up with years of some of the guys in school preferring to have the rave/dance station on the radio whenever we were allowed to have music in class. I was perfectly willing and able to tolerate the music. But the thing was, these guys were certainly not the majority. Anytime, and I mean ANYTIME someone suggested putting on a cd or a station that played anything other than their favourite genre, they were dead set against it. And I mean REALLY set against it. Any rock band, they considered "hippy" music. It doesn't matter if they've even heard of the artist before, they refuse to listen to it if it isn't dance. They listen for about 10 seconds to a song that is just slightly rocky, and they're like "TURN THAT HIPPY **** OFF!!". It was either their way or no way at all. And this is the attitude of people that like this genre of music I've encountered over and over.

Another example. My sister. She lives in a ****ing bubble, I swear to god. I love her and all. But for the last 10 years, no kidding, she's only listened to the same 5 or so albums. Celine Dion, and her ****ty rave stuff. She plays this stuff in the kitchen all the time. Whenever she watches tv, she can sit for HOURS and watch the same ****ty music channels. She has a big tendancy to hog the remote. She fights over the remote if you even try to watch something cool, like Star Trek. It's unbearable. I don't know how a person can live like this. In the real world, I'm always hearing about how people walk all over her. She has a weak personality.

The reason I'm complaining about it is because it's a damn annoyance. I'm trying to ****ing talk to customers on the phone, and all I can hear is super sped up tunes with helium like voices and annoying beats.

Spout your "taste is subjective" bla bla bla stuff all you want. Music IS tied to intelligence, and strength of personality. It's a fact.

I don't like it myself, but if people like it, good for them.

WRONG!! Thje rest of the post is just close-mindedness about a style of music you don't like
I don't listen to the current "hardcore" bands because I think they are nothing but creations of the musical industry. If someone chooses to listen to such music, it has no damned affect on my life at all. I listen to music I enjoy, and if someone likes it or not, why the hell should I care?

And like you're one to talk about psychological problems, since you're obsessed with a chick that wants nothing to do with you and jealous of the guy she chooses to be with.

J-Pop, K-Pop, Eurobeat, etc. are my secret vice. I have a large collection of music from Initial D that I hide very well.
