Yes. . .it seems like there is a lot going on. . .but aside from making this a three hour epic how can Raimi pull this off?

My take:
To begin with, Harry has already been developed in TWO films, so Raimi can just put him in the Green Goblin suit and roll film. As for Sandman and Eddie Brock. . .it isn't the first film to have two villains so I'm sure Raimi can pull it off. And, this so-called fourth villain is either Lizard, Norman (inside of Harry), or Peter himself. Any of these three can easily be pulled off.

Now, we move on to Gwen Stacy and her father. Her father I think is easy to develop since he is the Captain of the police department and will probably be at every major crime scene. . .kind of like Commissioner Gordon. As for Gwen, I don't know how they're gonna balance her with MJ. Unless they just send MJ to Hollywood or something.

Well if it is like the Last Stand, it'll be good and will make a crapload of money. So let it be like that.

The issue with X3, in my opinion, was that they switched directors and they rushed everything out. Because of that, nothing was flesh out. X3 wasn't a diaster, but it could of been much better.

I trust that Raimi and his team will be alright.

Notice the Cyclops sig. All the whiners seemingly got that as their sig.

its not looking good right now, it seems there will be too many villians and the only way to solve that would be to have a 3 our film, or 3 1/2.

(not that theres anything wrong with that)

Because it's about Spidey, not the X-Men. Duh.

He doesn't have to... he is not Brett Ratner

if SM3 is screwed up... it will be an entirely unique screw up from x3

it's kind of like how you can't compare x3 to batman forever
they're both bad in different ways

completely true. that movie should have been a half hour longer and directed by bryan singer. the problem was not the story, the plot, or the large number of characters.
Sp-3 has had a really long filming which would suggest it's a long movie. we have twice the budget as X-3, the same director, and they had 2 years of pre-production to perfect the story and everything prior to the start of filming.

I think the fourth villain will be very minor, and Venom will only become Venom at the end. That leaves Sandman and GG to carry the majority of the movie. If they make it 2 1/2 hours, it could work.

AHHHHHHH!!! TOO MANY THREADS!!!!! :p

I know. They need to be merged.

I see everyone is once again quick to jump the gun once one little article is released. We have no actual synopsis from Sony or anyone else, everything is still in the "speculation" phase. Let's see some acutal footage before we jump the gun once again.

Wasn't there a big thing about having 2 villains in the second one after the first one was released?

they have to outdo part 1 and 2 so let them...

let us know the characters well enough to care about what happens to them.

And don't show the entire movie online through clips first.

And don't make venom become full venom for five seconds and then say a oneliner, then that's all she wrote.

Absolutely no cliche lines like hell hath no fury and oh god help us.

generally just make the writing intelligent and more consistent and don't kill key characters.

thanks raimi. you're doing better with each film and I have confidence that this one will be better than x3. at least you're doing all three. i'd hate not to to see ratner's spidey though. He'd probably kill jjj or some **** and have the action take precedence over the story... that'd be interesting.

Man, I still cringe when I see this...

X-Men - Directed by Bryan Singer.

X2: X-Men United - Directed by Bryan Singer

X-Men: The Last Stand - Directed by Brett Ratner

Ugh!

X3 is a completely different case than SM3. X3 was obviously meant to be that last film in the series. and all the X-men movies add like 2385849696 new mutants in each film. this one was no different. oh, and they had to have a huge war for like...half of the movie.

SM3 sounds bigger than it really is. the villians are not the main plot points. the symbiote is. it's all gonna turn out fine. i have faith in raimi.

there will be x4

this isnt an x-men hate thread so cut it out!

I hate the name Brett, sounds so stuck up.

Even though X3 was great in my opinion, I don't think Spider-Man will be anything like X3. Brett Ratner is no Sam Raimi. Sam knows what he's doing.

in my opinion x3 was good but was dissapointing generally to fans of the first 2 movies. i think the point was that in general fans of spiderman 1 and 2 cud be dissapointed with 3 even if its still "good" jus like wat happened wit x-men.

Spiderman won't be like X3. Simply becuase theres only one Spiderman, not a team, so no one will be complaining about his screen time.

On top of that, four villians is a fair amount, but not THAT extreme. I think Raimi knows what he's doing.
