Seems like Best Buy's anime section is getting bigger and bigger and yet I see less and less of my favorite Sailor scouts. What gives? Why is it you can buy like 4 pokemon boxed sets and I can't get my ladies? :woot:

answers(that DON'T include: "because it sucks")?

ADV's license expired a few years ago and I don't think anyone else has picked it up.

Acutally, I bleave Geneon (which at the time was called Pioneer) bought the rights to Sailor Moon from Dic. Once the license expired, it was never picked back up.

really? crap. I was only lucky enough to get one box set of it: Sailor Moon S. I did get some miscellaneous video tapes of Sailor Moon R though.

try looking or imports online. i have one. they're a little easier to come by. if not...watching online might be your best bet.

It's a shame they never released the final season Sailor Moon:Sailor Stars back then....I have the last I think 10 episodes of that season where Sailor Moon fought Sailor Galaxia . I bought them at a not so local(45 minute drive) place that used to sell bootleg/fan subbed copies(years before the internet took over).

If you like the ladies of Sailor Moon then dig this...Sailor moon was naked in the final episode of the series lol

Well the Stars manga was released, but that's been expired as well

But I heard Toei is holding back on licensing it for more money or something

its gone because its basically porno so no one watches it so it just faded away

I was looking for the Sailor Moon boxsets the other day and didn't think they'd be so few and far between.

Does anyone know if Tenchi Muyo and Universe were ever released as series boxsets? All I can ever find are the movies and crappy Tenchi in Tokyo.

Depending on where you shop, you might still be able to find the Tenchi Muyo and Tenchi Universe boxsets. I think they re-released the boxsets at some point, so sometimes you'll find either series in a ridiculously thick collection that looks like the single volume DVDs bundled up, but there should be smaller sets of the same episodes no thicker than a VHS tape.

By the way, I recommend watching the Tenchi Muyo: Ryo-Ohki boxset. It's a direct sequel to the Tenchi Muyo series, and it's just as funny as the old one. There are maybe one or two references to that GXP show, but I never saw GXP and it was all good.

On the subject of Sailor Moon, is there some sort of universal stall on all incarnations of the franchise or something? You can't even find the manga anywhere, and I'll probably never get to read Codename: Sailor V.

I remember reading a article ANN that tokyo pop discontinue most if not all volumes.

I'll look it up and edit this post.

It’s on Hulu now, along with dragon ball, dragon ball z etc.

Honestly, I think sailor moon could be the next big Asian super hero in Hollywood. Personally I would want to see all the cast be Asian, a couple of them maybe half Asian, at least for the first five scouts.

Queen beryls servants should be Caucasian, trying to steal Japanese people’s souls through materialistic desire.

Would love to see Rey’s talismans and the temple, the Japanese customs and traditions, etc. Also the sci fi and technology aspect with Luna and Amy, and let’s not forget that humor surrounding usagi!! She’d be a lost cause if it weren’t for the many people she has to lean on, which is a great message for kids
