How Do You Feel About The "New" Flash?

I was just wondering what opinions are about Bart Allen (Impulse) assuming the mantle of the Flash.

Not quite ready for it yet....

As a fan of the Flash...we had at least many years to get used to Wally as a hero: first as Kid-Flash then eventually as the Flash. Which worked....
But when Impulse first arrived, we all got used to him being.....IMPULSIVE. Now after he's shot in the knee....reads the library......wear the Kid Flash costume....and now just like that he's the Flash????

DC's trying too hard to force him down our throats.....
This new genre at DC is unsuitable for the fan population, as they choose more to listen to themselves rather then the fan population.
They seem to lack tapping into the pulse of the Flash-Fan population.
Well, l hope they try harder with the next few issues....otherwise Barts run on the Flash is going to be the SHORTEST one ever.

Same here. I prefer Wally retired. Good ending to a great run (pun intended).

the only thing DC is forcing down our throats is batwoman.

wtf do you mean shortest run? they just get another writer to replace the current ones. the new genre at DC has always been there, since they replaced barry with wally west, dont you think the same shnit you are *****ing about now, was said by barry allen fans?
most of the shnit your saying sounds really contrived.

face it, bart is the new flash.

Okay this is where you have to use your READing skills to PROPERLY understand what people are saying.
In my last post I said,

"Well, l hope they try harder with the next few issues....otherwise Barts run on the Flash is going to be the SHORTEST one ever."

This means that DC better improve their writing and story telling otherwise, this new incarnation of the Flash might be cancelled before it reaches its 100th issue.

Is that clear enough?

i doubt DC will be cancelling it. clear enough for you?

It's true. No matter how bad the Flash's title gets, it'll limp along because he's arguably their biggest secondary character, or at least tied for the position with Green Lantern. If things continue the way they've been going, however, I'll have dropped it and ceased to care long before its hundredth issue.

But then youll never know what became of ... aww man... what the hell is his friend's name...

There goes my argument... its gotta be a crappy book if I cant even remember the guy's name.

I've already dropped it till I hear Wally is back or a new creative team joins.

I don't mind it.

I just think it lies more with the fact that Geoff Johns and Howard Porter had such a fantastic run on The Flash, and with the Wally West character, that shortly after their run ends they change Flash's...and the creative teams that have tackled The Flash since their departure have NOT been up to that quality Johns and Porter put into the character.

I like Bart Allen, and the story, so far, isn't horrible...but it's not exactly making me want to keep getting this book either. There's no explanation of where Wally is at yet. Everything just seems sort of confusing than anything else.

But I think a large part of this has to do with getting a good creative team to follow Johns/Porter. And that's going to be one tough task. And, unfortunately, it doesn't look like the crack writing team of the old Flash television show are going to be able to get the job done.

Flash needs a comic book writer.

I think itll smooth over after this first story arc.

No, sorry it wasnt. Wally deserved much better than just "Yeah, he got lost in the Speedforce" garbage. And never get mentioned again.

Well would you rather they throw him in the speedforce till they figure out something cool to do with him or have him run around out of character like Nightwing? Might as well let Bart get *****ed about than screw up Wally

Indeed. But I imagine he'll pop up again sometime.

Yeah, far more. As far as I'm concerned, Bart shouldn't be the Flash...at least, not yet.

They should just get Waid to come back. He's a major part of why Wally is the greatest Flash ever. Odds are he could work the same magic with Bart, especially since he created the kid.

But here's one thing I know for sure: Waid would've damn well told us where Wally is and put our minds at ease sooner rather than later. :o

this might be a stupid question, but, what exactly did happen to wally and why is bart the new flash?

This should help...

In Infinite Crisis #4, Wally, Jay, and Bart joined together to stop the rampage of Superboy-Prime in Smallville, using their top speeds to hinder him. During the battle, Wally seemed to turn into energy and started to disappear. He was able to appear to Linda (his "lightning rod"). During his goodbye to her, she grabbed onto him with their infant children in her arms and all four vanished.
Apparently Linda, Wally and their twins are still alive in an unknown dimension, from which only Bart Allen has managed to return. Bart tells the other heroes that Wally is "just taking some time away" with Linda to watch his twins grow. For now, no one knows if he is able to, or even wants to, return to Earth.

Gay. Uber gay.

He probably will. I'm just anxious to know where he is.

I think, and I'm preparing for hate from everyone, I'm glad Wally left when he did. Now, I loved Wally. I really did. But, in a weird way, I felt like he had gone as far as he could.

Now, at first, when the rumours of the new Flash were circulating, I said I hoped it was Bart. And I did.

Problem is, this isn't Bart. It's some kind of... perversion. It's like Bart stopped being who he was and merged with Wally in some freaky speed force sponsored badly dubbed porn sort of way.

And that just doesn't fly (
