How do you watch sequels/series?

Do you usually watch films with sequels out of order or independent of each other?

I mean,for example, I can't just watch The Empire Strikes Back.I need to watch ANH first and ROTJ afterward.It's like that for most series.I won't just throw in Last Crusade,but I have to watch Raiders and TOD first.

Somethings I skip though.Like Star Trek TMP.I rarely watch it anymore,since it bores me to tears.But it's not really integral to the following movies.And once in a while I'll just throw in Wrath of Khan without watching the sequels.

So,do you have any certain habits when watching films with sequels?

I tend to watch them in order. For example, I'll watch Batman Begins, then The Dark Knight, and then The Dark Knight Rises. I will often skip certain films if they suck. In the case of Star Trek, I'll just watch II, III, IV, VI, First Contact, 09, and STID, but skip TMP, V, Generations, Insurrection, and Nemesis.

Because of my ocd, if I want to watch The Avengers, i HAVE to watch (in order) Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America THEN The Avengers. I hate that I have to do this, since I don't even really like any of those movies nearly as much as I like the Avengers

I can watch films out of order. It does not bother me if I step into the middle or end of a franchise.

I think Avengers is the only one of the Marvel films I can watch independently.

There are other things too,like I'm not really a big BTTF fan,but I really enjoy part III.So it's the only one I'll usually watch.

I can't watch Temple of Doom before Raiders (technically it's a prequel) it just feels wrong.You can tell it's a "middle movie".

Same here. I can watch The Dark Knight without watching Batman Begins first or The Dark Knight Rises afterwards. I can watch The Avengers on its own without watching any of the films before or after it. Same for any of the Indiana Jones films.

I find it hard to watch any of the Lord of the Rings films without watching the other two as well, and I assume that'll be the same case with The Hobbit trilogy.

I watch them whenever I want lol. I don't have to watch the previous ones beforehand, unless obviously its in theaters. I watched KA2 a couple weeks ago when I bought it and didn't watch KA1 beforehand.

I can watch any movie or episode whenever I want because I know the contexts and plots in my head anyway. It comes down to what I feel like watching at the time.
