I am reading the rebirth #1 and follow the superman story.

But since rebirth 1 and the button I wanna start collecting flash rebirth. Ordered the crisis tpb.

But in which books does wally west get lost in speed force.

Or is that the result of flashpoint and I've forgotten.

Which TPB should I order to catch up on flash stories.

I’ve found Flash Rebirth to be massively disappointing.

I've read little other flash material so would be hard for me to compare.

Also I have loads of 90s superman, new 52 and rebirth and like it all. I'm fairly easily pleased by dcsdirection

Do you have a long history with flash? Can you recommend tpbs to catch up on his major story arcs?

Yea. I've tried jumping into The Flash a few times and couldn't really get into it. I dug the Button crossover, and the recent Flash Annual was pretty good too. I'm interested in Flash War but we'll see.

But to answer the OP:

It's never explained exactly how Wally got lost in the speed force. It has to do with Dr. Manhattan's meddling with the timeline. I imagine we'll get more info about this at some point in the upcoming Flash War arc and more importantly, in Doomsday Clock.

If you just want solid Flash comics, DC has been doing a solid job collecting Mark Waid's run on the title from the 90's when Wally was The Flash. I'd start with Vol. 2 as that collects The Return of Barry Allen story, which is considered one of the best Flash stories of all. After that, you can kind of pick & choose from there. Terminal Velocity, Chain Lightning, and The Dark Flash Saga are all great.

AWESOME definitely answers both my questions

I find it better than thenew 52 storylines but I'm also a bit disappointed and I'm not into Team Flash. I mean,I like it when there's only Barry orWally and KidFlash, but that's it.
The good thing is : the Rogues are back are they should be. It's a start.
to push it further, I'll admit thatI did not read any great flash story since Waid and Johns left the title. It's too much like a social drama now,it looks a bit like the TV serie.
I remember when Wally was the flash, I could read real speed adventures, where the character was pushing the limits always further and the Rogues were a nasty bunch of criminals.

Gonna look into waid and John's books. Can you name any tpbs by them?

As I mentioned in my post, DC has been releasing trades of Waid's run. They're called "The Flash by Mark Waid". There are currently 4 volumes, with a 5th volume coming out later this year. The 5th volume marks the end of the line, but not even close to the end of Waid's run. I suspect they'll rebrand it as "The Flash by Brian Augustyn and Mark Waid" or something (and they should, because Waid & Augustyn wrote Chain Lightning and The Dark Flash Saga).

Volume 1 includes Waid's "Born to Run" arc, a Year One style story about Wally. It also includes a few one shots, annuals and specials.

Volume 2 contains the Return of Barry Allen story that I recommended.

Volume 3 contains the first appearances of Impulse, which are really fun.

Volume 4 contains Terminal Velocity, which is really freakin' good.

Volume 5 contains Dead Heat along with a few other stories.

DC also released Johns' run in a comprehensive collection series called "The Flash by Geoff Johns". It's currently on volume 4. Volume 5 comes out later this year and concludes his run of the character. But I'm not a fan of Johns at all and so haven't gotten around to reading these.

But I will also recommend checking out the Flash by Mark Millar and Grant Morrison tpb. I'm not much a fan of either writer, but this stuff is great. I especially recommend checking this out just for Flash #134, called "A Day In The Life" about Jay Garrick. It's one of my favorite Flash stories ever.

I am thankful for the Rogues return. But Barry is a grating character in these books. And the art isn’t doing any favors. It’s atrocious.

All of them in both case. Like CrimsonMist mentionned, DC made books called "The Flash by Mark Waid" and "the Flash by Geoff Johns".
They're different but they're both excellent. I prefer G.Johns' run because he's the only one who made the old rogues so cool and so adapted to the Flash instead of the generic ala batman villains.
