I want to get it, but I haven't heard anybody say any really good (or bad) things about it. I'm currently liking Ed's Uncanny issues, but without reading DG, it is a bit confusing.

My impression that it was nothing more than a shock-value grab-your-buck story.

Shock! The Summers Brother! Shock! The lines between Professor X and Ultimate Professor X are blurred! Shock! Banshee's dead! Gasp! Shock! Awe!

I'm pretty sure it was little more than "Wow, Brubaker's writing X-Men! Buy buy buy!" But then again, I dropped after the first issue.

It was ok, nothing amazing though.
Youve really gotta rad it anyway though to follow whats going on in Uncanny at the moment.

the sad thing was that the first issue was great. and it was a great concept with the "secret x-men". but i really think they should've left the whole 3rd summers brother thing out of it. also it was swallowed up in the whole decimation thing. but the thing that got me the worst was switch on artists. the first issue was so awesome cause hairsine is really able to capture the creepiness of what was going on. on the rest of the book hannah did the art and it was very lame.

My problem with it was probably basically that I come to this website. If I didn't read up on the comics online, it probably would have been a whole lot more exciting, but seeing as Marvel basically revealed everything before the issues came out, it was very anticlimactic.

If you had high hopes about the storyline of the 3rd Summers brother and had been anticipating the revealation for over 10 years, then you might not want to read this because it will be very dissappointing, but on the other hand if you could give a rat's a$$ about that old plot, then go 'head and get it. It will help out in the uncanny arc atleast. Like Spectre722 said, the 3rd summers brother line shouldn't have even in the least bit been involved with Deadly Genesis, it could've stood alone being someone else, But IMHO i think that totally destroyed the anticipation for the revealation of the Scott #3 mystery.

The whole event was to hype up the "3rd summers brother" its not really worth the time.Read it if you want, but this story is not good enoughto be connected to the Third Summers Brother.

This was a good read...just was to introduce another story line into the x-books..uncanny x-men....it was Ok just not worth of purchase

Not if you read Wikipedia's entries on Kid Vulcan and Krakoa. That's all I needed before picking up Uncanny.

You'll take the story where that Adam X nobody was the 3rd brother, only to be killed soon after?

I wasn't aware that there was a wealth of Summers Brother stories that were so good, this story isn't fit to be counted with them. I enjoyed Deadly Genesis, I suppose. It was entertaining enough.

Honestly, I think that with what we know now, the 616 Prof X is a lot more sinister than Ult. Prof. Between Astonishing and now this, I'm amazed any of the X-Men still give him the time of day.

Adam X wasn't a nobody...at least he had appearances and a background story introduced before the bomb would have been dropped that he was a brother or at least half brother to scott and alex...Gabriel/vulcan(another nobody by the way) was just plunkered down on us and we were forced to accept it. yeah he may be ten kinds of cool...but damn...talk about coming from left field. we had to learn everything there was to learn about him from deadly genesis..in addition to prof x becoming a bigger A-hole and the death of a whole team of hidden x-men...that alone would have been great storytelling but then we have the third brother thrown in for good measure. I say let the person that started the story finish the story. That person was Fabian Nicieza not Brubaker

Don't waste your time, it was horrible. Pure shock retcon disguised as a story where nothing really happens anyway.
