Didn't see another thread for this, apologies if it's already been posted.

Saw the trailer for this yesterday and was very intrigued. Looks like an apocalyptic tale but not quite sure exactly what is behind the events. Forest Whitaker is always a joy to watch too.

I watched this yesterday (at the suggestion of Netflix), and I was waiting for the payoff at the end; finding out what had happened and why, but there was no payoff, it was just left open with no explanation what-so-ever.

Bit of a lame film to be totally honest.

LOL... so a movie called "How it Ends" robs you of an ending? That's just cruel, man.

Yeah I watched it last night and was quite disappointed, it had a lot of promise but seemed quite generic in the end and it was annoying how they never fully explained what was causing all the weird stuff going on.

Also found the characters to be badly thought out; the lead went from suited and booted lawyer to gun-toting hero in the space of 4 days or so, and Forest Whitaker seemed to be wasted as an ex-marine and angry father who behaved completely predictably. It was also somewhat depressing how much of North America was completely abandoned or populated by people who had already succumbed to the lawless Mad-Max style gun-toting redneck cliche, despite the fact only a couple of days had passed since the 'event'.

It’s a Netflix movie, of course it’s disappointing. They know their longform but haven’t cracked short form storytelling.

Yeah, I thought it was just ok up until the ending. Felt like the writers didn't know how to end the film. And someone decided to give it this title as some kind of joke.
