How long do you think Sony will continue making Playstation 2 Games?
How long do you think Sony will continue making Playstation 2 Games?
Not necesarily. Here is list of games coming to the PS2 and while not impressive, its not just sports or movie tie insso bascially the only games that will come out for ps2 are Sports games and crappy movie tie ins.
They didnt stick themselves into a corner. The original plan for the PS2 is for it to have a 10 year life span. All signs point to that just happening. They are milking money out of that system and thats exactly what they wanted. They can not give up on the Playstation 2 anytime soon because that is the peoples only source for Fony backwards compatibility. They stuck themselves in a corner & can not get rid of the Playstation 2. The games might eventually stop production but the system will be here to stay unless they add backwards compatibility to the 40 gig.
The last PS1 game came out in 2005, 11 years after the system hit. If they were to follow in the same footsteps then theoretically, the last PS2 game should come out in 2011

the suposedly said during e3 07 games were to slow down in production during the latter part of summer but that didnt pan out.......but they have to do it sometime soon supporting mutiple consoles at one times is not good business just ask sega how that worked out. they had the genesis with full support in some countries, the 32x in others, saturn in a couple, gamegear in a few, ant etc. it just became a horrible mess to sort out and finally it took its toll. in sony's case by supporting the cheaper system the provides no incentive to trade up the average joe says "why should i get a ps3 when great games are still coming out for the ps2." Also they need to drop support because big titles that once brought in high revenue are not doing so now. case in point EA (lets not talk about quality of games for now) they have not been making as much money off their sports games on the ps2 they once did, meaning they are after a while going to move on(though they cant due to nfl licence). So sony i know you love to remince in the good 'ol days but you've got to move on and get your head in gear.
7 Shoot Games which came out in Germany. The last US release was Fifa Soccer 2005 and the last Japan release was Black Matrix Zero OO, both in 2004What game came out in 2005?
true and thats a smart move. Once people started moving onto the PS2, hte PS1 got ridiculously cheap and they released the smaller PSONE model which was more kid friendly. Being relatively inexpensive, parents were more likely to pick up the sytem for children and developers catered to that. A $99 system was alot more attractive than a new $299 one. When I was moving onto the PS2, I saw some of my 6-9 year old cousins starting to get PSONES. Little kids and parents definetly, dont care or worry much about next gen technology and the latest graphics. It's very much a list of games you see at the end of a consoles life span. Just a bunch of junk for kids, basically titles for parents to buy little kids before they're old enough to play the new systems.
