Comics How many people know Spider-Man has a Spider sense?

Well those issues have bs continuity so unless it happens in the main spiderman comic(or civil wars) we can assume aunt may and mj know about his power. Though others probably know but dont know that he names it.

You read a lot of the early issues through the 70s, 80s, and 90s and there are times when he practically shouts to those around him, "Wait! My spider sense is tingling," and other issues where he says it's his greatest weapon so he doesn't want anyone to know about it. I think the number of people who know about it changes with each writer.

Every hero he fought with in Secret Wars I knows... I just re-read it and Spidey tells everyone at least TWICE that his "Spider-Sense is tingling" and that "something dangerous is about to happen" and to "get out of the way".

I'm paraphrasing, but he clearly let's all the other heroes know.

Pretty much all of his writers these days don't know he has one.

lol.

But the stingers, man, the STINGERS!

Brother he can identify a long eared, purple spotted Tarantula, twenty yards away, who cares about Spider sense!

Didn't the Chameleon miraculously figure out the whole spider-sense thing back in ASM #1? :o

Yup, used it to call his to a crime scene

yeah it was never a secret.millar just pretended it was as a plot device to get spidey wondering about tony. bad continuity. again.

In the "next Secret Wars"....instead of Spidey announcing to every foe he fights that his spidey-sense is tingling to warn him of danger, he can remind everyone that he is really Peter Parker instead.

"Hi-I'm Peter Parker, remember? I unmasked in Civil War because Iron Man wanted me to. I have an Aunt May, she agreed with Iron Man too. You going after her when done with me?"

Captain Obvious!!....why do some writers write Peter Parker as John Madden tho...i mean...really!!?? :)

Instead of Spider-sense they should've just had Tony casually mention MJ's bra size

Fantastic Four knows. In th story where Brock's cancer was revealed, Spidey told something about it.

I think: did Ezekiel know? Or have even himself a spider sense?

Btw, when Venom knows Spidey's identity by the symbiote, does Carnage know it?

No, the Carnage symbiote is basically a child of the Venom symbiote. Although Carnage did find out his identity, albeit, for only an issue in ASM 402

Does Mysterio still use that...whatever to screw up Peter's spider sense? Remember the Green Goblin and the Hobgoblin used to have that...whatever to temperarily deaden it as well.

Dr Doom knows, ASM #4. Sending a message on a certain frequency as he knows Spidey's Spidey sense would pick it up.

Didn't the last issue say he only told Aunt May and MJ?

I found this where he yells it out in front of these two.

technically, even though he's only apparently informed two people, it doesn't mean that others aren't aware of it by viewing a situation.

and technically synch knew about it before he died as well as he faced plant man with spidey and synchronised with spidey's powers and asked pete what that buzzing in his head was.

Actually, that's JMS you're talking about. It was in ASM, not Civil War.

Also, I don't think it 's that weird for Peter to have these thoughts. I mean, a lot of people over the years have ignored Spidey, thought he was joking, and down right not taken note of what he says. Also, what is a Spidey sense exactly? I'm guessing the average person would not know the mechanics behind it.

Also, Stark is the kind of man that wouldn't really normally pay attention to details unless he wants to. MOST importantly, he NEVER discussed his Spidey sense with Peter b4, even though they have talked a lot.

Stark has said he wants to be informed of ALL of Peters powers after The Other, and Peter was apprehensive clearly. Yet, Stark uses Peter's powers without Peter formally informing him about them. Not a HUGE deal, but it definatley is a cause for concern. Peter is now realising that Stark is using him for his own advantage, and not nessasarily thinking only about Peter and his family

Tiger, you just hit the jackpot!!!

But seriously, thats exactly the case. It does indeed change with each writer. To some its a secret to others its not, its a continuity issue really. I always went with the whole idea that Pete keeps it a secret, being that someone like the GGoblin has that gas weapon that disables Spidey's spider-sense. Why would Spidey wanna let anyone else know about his spider-sense when other villians can also try and create a weapon that could render his spider-sense helpless???

I remember an issue of ASM where Spidey has a rematch w/ the Tri-Sentinel and teams up w/ Nova. When Spidey and Nova sneak into an lab/base Spidey, using his spider-sense, warns Nova of the laser-trip beams. Nova asks Spidey how did he know that they were there because it was pitch black in the tunnel. Spidey lies to Nova and tells him that he can see them. And Spidey is lying about his power to another HERO!!!

This is a situation that has been pretty inconsistent over the years. I mean, personally I always felt Spider-man would rather have it be a secret. Come on now, it's his greatest weapon and power even if writers seem to forget about it most of the time. I've heard other heroes comment about it and I think he's actually told some other people about it. Yet in ASM Spidey goes on to say that no one but MJ and Aunt May.

I have no problem with that since that's how I always figured it should be. Why would Spider-man want to tell anyone else about it anyway?

At the end of the day though, it's just a plot device to allow Peter to know that Tony has been playing him for a sap since day one.

I just read through House of M at a Borders, and I saw something there:

In Genosha just before the world transforms at the end of "House of M" #1, Spider-Man announces to all of the heroes (Iron Man included, standing right next to him as a matter of fact) that he's got a sort of "danger sense."

if you read the recent Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man #4, Peter shows his spider-sense to Tony, Steve, and Reed near the begining of the issue.
He then tells tony something about his spider-sense becoming "stronger" after he trips tony suddenly from behind

I mean honestly, this was just a couple months ago, how could you make a continuity mistake
