Aloha,
Getting ready to do my taxes and wondered about the rest of us. How much did you spend on comics, hard covers and trades in 2006?

My pull list tips the scapes at anywhere between 50-75 dollars every month, and that's not counting trades and hardcovers and conventions, so I would be in the 500-750 range.

My spending on publications is probably close to $300, but the total would be more if you included other "stuff."

I'm glad I only collect Spider-Man... :yay:

If you include back issues from the 60s, then a couple of grand. Monthly on new issues it's around $30. It will be much less once this civil war thing is over.

I put in 1-300, but reading a post remembered an auction for 507 comics I got for $190 (I only had to pay 130 though)! So, $300-500 :)

$500-700...?...i dunno..maybe more...

Mostly on TPB's...which add up fast...

Althoguth the comics today do too...which i get some here and there....although my complete long runs of every spidey title i've always enjoyed since the beginning took a big hit years back...

Between $300 and $500 on new stuff (99% Marvel. The only DC book i've been getting this year is Justice, which has been a treat).

If we are including back issues, then i spent between $700 and $1000.

500-700...spidey titles and 3 x men titles

Zilch, nothing, nada... I haven't spent anything since Sins Past... and it'll probably stay that way until Spidey gets better, which might take some time... (Hopefully things will get better Post JMS and a bunch of retcon bombs)

Aloha,
Yes I am including Back Issues. Just not statues,t-shirts,etc. For those who have a subscription, you can figure this out pretty quickly.

About 500 to 750. It was a crazy year and I was adding a lot of titles on each and every month. It's carrying over into 07 so it looks like I'm going to be doing some title cutting soon. :o :csad:

Less than I've EVER spent since 1970s. I don't see the number going back up either.

Yeah, I put $300-$500, probably one of my bigger years for spending on comic book stuff. I've added a lot to my list since the year began, mostly looking for more quality titles, and some that don't particularly involve Spidey.

Let's see, ... I get around 50 books each month, at roughly 3 dollars a book, with a 20% discount, plus $.067 a dollar for taxes, times 12 months in a year, ...

So, about $1500 to $1600 a year, ... Damn, no wonder I'm poor. At least I'll have stuff to read when I'm living in a shanty made of longboxes.

Justice is the only DC title I get too. It's really, really good. I just wish it weren't bi-monthly...

I really don't keep track of it, so it's sorta hard to estimate, but this year I've bought anywhere from 30-40 titles a month, and with the back issues and trades...it's at least $750, I'm sure. Probably over a thousand.

500-750 probably or maybe a bit more

It would be, but I get my for cheaper than most people. If I bought 40 titles every month the whole year, it would have cost me $960 bucks.

Not counting shipping. :o

just under a 1,000 dollars...but that's in Canadian dollars so maybe 10 bucks American :)

...oh and Donald, why did doing your taxes prompt this question??.....you know it's not a write off right? :).....

Same here. I was a big fan of the Justice League as a kid, and this book is very reminiscent of that era. :super: :batty: :ww: :gl:

I keep meaning to get back into Batman and Detective as well, just as soon as my finances recover from the holidays, lol.
