So I'm sitting here watching Family Guy at 3 am with a 9 am wake-up looming. I usually don't need alot of sleep, since I know I can just come home and nap for awhile (ah college) but I know that won't be the case in the future.

Anyways I digress, and ask...how much sleep do you normally get? What are you sleep patterns like? Stay up late no matter what time you have to get up? Go to bed early? Or don't you sleep at all...and just wait.

I prefer 8-9, especially if I've been in the gym that morning. I can't function on anything less than 6.

On my days off, I can usually sleep for around 10-12 hours.

On weekends, it's about 8-11 hours. On weekdays, it's about six. I try to log times that are multiples of 90 min, since that's the average time for a complete sleep cycle.

Jesus, I need at least 12 hours to function properly, which is extremely rare for me. I usually get like 5 hours. :csad:

I usually get 7 or 8. If I only get around 5 or 6 I'll be grumpy the rest of the day. And I'm normally staying up late, it just depends.

4-5 depending on how often my daughter wakes up in the night.

In bed at 1, up at 6.30.

I need more, but if I go earlier if feels as though I've spent a higher percentage of my day at work, so to dilute it with late nights.

That said, I have a fair bit of trouble in the morning.

Between 6 and 7 hours a night.

Funny thread, considering last night.

I got about 1-2 full hours of sleep, with 7 hours of laying in the bed.

8 hours is perfect for me. When I'm working and not snowed off like I am now!!! I go to sleep at about 10 or 11 and wake up about 6 or 7. But on the weekends, depending on what I've been doing...;) I get about 10 hours.

On average, about 4-6 hours a night.

I go to bed at about midnight or 1am wake up around 5:30 or 6am. I tend to function pretty well on little sleep. When I was in school I only used to get 4 hours of sleep a night Mon - Fri. That was fun times. :hehe:

:hehe: When I was at school I would catch up with my sleep in lesson!

I remember when less than ten hours of sleep was horrifying.

Now, I'm happy if I get, at least, six.

I can't sleep for that long. I feel like my day is wasted.

I've got a friend who could literally sleep the whole day. I ring him up on Saturdays at bout 4pm or whatever and he's just woken up! Lazy bastard!

I couldn't sleep that long even if I wanted.

Hungover, I get it. But just laying in the bed - yeah, I agree.

One of my professors theorized that one only needs seven hours of sleep, every night - and once a month, said person should stay up 24 hours to reset his or her clock.

The theory stated that if said persons, truly, slept seven hours, and stayed up, once a month, said persons would get full REM sleep, each night - oppose to laying down for 8-9 hours and only getting 5-6.

Never tried it; but it sounds interesting.

anyone else notice how hard it is to talk on days with no sleep? i know some devilishly strange people who talk perfectly when sleepy. but for me i studder over all my words and cant think of the words my mind would usually find easily.
