How Often Do You Ever Reread Your Comics?

Nope,not at all. I should re-read The Watchmen though.It's a tough read.

I make it a point to read Kingdom Come and Watchmen at least once a year. Other than that, I peruse through my (admittedly small) collection about once a week to keep myself entertained. There are some issues that I've practically memorized from reading them time and time again, and there are some which I haven't touched since buying them.

Really, it depends on whether or not the story is worth re-reading.

Yeah, there are some I re-read here and there, and some I just read once and never have the desire to pick up and read again. Like everyone else, I have certain issues/storylines/trades/one shots that I enjoy, and re-read atleast once a year, and sometimes if time permits, I will want to read a particular writer's run on a certain title/superhero. Just depends on mood, like, and interest at the time.

Once in a blue moon.

Generally, I'd rather - and need to anyway - read new comics. :o

Every now and then, I like to go back and reread a miniseries or a favorite arc from a certain book. I don't know how many times I've read Doctor Strange: The Oath recently. Of course, one of the main reasons I reread comics is because I need something to do during my lunch breaks at work, and that particular week's new books only last me 2 days.

I need to adopt a "lunch-reading" habit at some point. But I don't know....I'd rather surf the net.

I don't have any kind of regular time frame, but I do reread comics. Like if an issue is late, I might read the previous issue beforehand just to catch up again. Or if I just feel like rereading a storyline, I'll do it.

car journeys, long haul trips, quiet times....

but saying that i have plenty that i haven't even finished reading yet (i just glanced over while in the shop) and others that i've only managed to really read once...

but the same goes for a dvd collection, how often does a collector of anything get to indulge in all the things he has collected. For most parts, it becomes a part of a whole rather than a single worshipped entity.

True. But comics is more niche than DVDs, and dare I say, more expensive!

My trades I do all the time. My back issues rarely.

Monthlies pretty every 2nd day or maybe everyday.Fit in a little time frame when I'm not busy with homework, eating, working out or hanging out.Anywhere from 10 mins to 15 mins.

So the consensus is you all don't?

...Should we stop buying non-TPBs??

I re read them all the time. I prefer it. The story unfolds better if you're not waiting a month between segments. Once I get a decent sized run together I re read them over the course of a night or two. I get so much more out of it that way. And some old story lines like TMNT Vol. 1 or the early Gen 13 stuff I've read quite a few times. I also re read books and re watch movies. If I wasn't going to read a comic more than once I wouldn't buy them. I'd either download them or borrow from friends.

there can only be one hardcore comic geek in any group of friends.

What are you talking about? My best friend is a hardcore comic geek and I'm a hardcore comic geek. There's two in our circle of friends. And everyone else we know pretends to be a hardcore comic geek. It's weird, I've got friends who don't own a single comic book and claim to love comic books. Go figure.
