The Dark Knight How should be the Batmobile for The Dark Knight?

How's this one, a powder black camouflage with a metal bat symbol on the front:

O.K. guys quite a big spoiler here,
I know a few people who worked on the tumbler for BB The reason chris nolan wanted no front axle is because in the dark knight a bike is going to come out! the guys got the word last week that they had the job for this film and have already started working on the designs to make it happen

If this is true i hope this doesnt mean that the tumbler will get destroyed in TDK and Batman escapes on the bike. Film-makers always seem to destroy the cool cars in the 2nd movie for some reason, see Batman Returns and Mad Max 2 for prime examples, there are some other that i cant think of at the moment.

I think if they were to do anything..just make the existing car more sleek.. but its fine as is.

Wow, this is awesome if true. You should send this scoop to the hype mainpage.

well after the reaction I got from Nivek I thought everyone knew this allready,
I usually hang around the casino royale boards. And also didn't want to get the guys a pinewood in trouble by making it too widely known

that's it for the moment but I see the guys most weeks so I'll post anything new as i get it.

if this is true Bale would be ecstatic. isnt he into bikes?

Uh oh....

Nolan better know what hes doing... this could be bad if he misses the mark.

Will this be named
"Bat cycle?"
... if so im worried.

Nolan seems to have good instinct so if hes found a way... i must see it to believe it.

I agree Charlie, that idea could either pay off in a really cool way or it could turn out to feel really campy.

I've never had an issue with the TUmbler. It's different.

They could try to customize it by adding some bat logos here and there, but that's it.

Eh... bat logos... i mean bat this bat that.... i vote nay. Thats old school. His metal stars are bat logos.. thats enough for me imo. Good balance.

No bat logos, PLEASE. The thing is suposed to be "reality based". The shurikens is cool, as its a symbol he leaves behind. The chest is his trademark. Thats it. The least we see batsomething the more we buy the "grown man dressing up as a bat". No naming stuff like the batcave, batmobile, batarang, batphone, Batsuit, bat whatever. Its his headquartes, his car, his weapon, his combat suit. Thats what we call it outside the universe. But Batman saying, lets go to the batmobile is not right. Specially with Bale's beast aproach to the character.

A Bat Bike. Oh MI GOSH. Is TDK going to be campy??? I hope they make the bike look the one in spawn.

Tumbler, only twice as big.
Ten times as big, and with rocket launchers, hyperspace drives, and a plutonium reactor so Batman can go back in time just for the hell of it.

I think the DKR one actually had ALL of that.

I dunno. I'd like them to keep it close to the Tumbler. I'd be cool with fins and stuff.

But, nothing as metrosexual as we got before. Something tells me that's out of style.

Just keep the Tumbler the same and add some new gadgets. Nothing more than this needs to be done with it IMO.

Please tell me how "reality" is different from putting bat-symbols on stuff or assigning prefixes to names?

Was the Batmobile in BB called "Bat mobile?"

Bike sounds cool and I kind of saw it coming. I'm sure the missles fire from the bike itself this whole time, which is why he had to go into that position. Instead of having two systems, the car just uses the one the bike has. Very nice indeed. :)

As for the batmobile and realisim issue, people are sacrificing Batman for realism and I don't like that. I want a Batman faithful to the comics and I got it. I don't want Nolan to get carried away with his vision like Burton and Schumacher did. Then we don't get Batman and all. Again. I don't mean for them to go batcrazy or anything but I don't want them thinking "What's the purpose of a batwing when he can get an air force issue blackbird? And that boat. Let's just get him this milatary issue speedboat.". Then it becomes less Batman and more military-ninja man who just happens to dress like a bat...All I ask for is the Batman I read about to be brought to celluloid.

That said, if Penguin's in this movie, I better see a long protruding nose.

I loved The Tumbler in BEGINS, to me it was my favorite live action Batmoblie. it was just a badass car .

However If Nolan & Company decided to change the desgin of The Batmoblie to be a little more sleek design .

Then I would like to see something similar to this desgin .

But other than that I say, Leave The Tumbler the way it is .

Here's the thing. No-one's saying it's not. Just saying some improvement would be nice. I personally like it but mostly because it was Batman Year One. I liked it for the same reason I didn't expect Batman to have electric baterangs or anything like that yet. Everything was very down to earth and unpolished. For a sequel however I'd like him to be more...Professional looking. Not necessarily sleaker, just cleaner and less "I found this here and decided to slap it on", you know...As is the current Batsuit itself looks like alternative Iron Man armor or something.

As I said, everything worked because it was Begins. I wouldn't have a problem with things staying the same in TDK BUT I would find it a little odd if there was no visible change.

Personally, I would like to see something a little bit sleeker for the film. I always had a small problem with the tumbler just because it dsidn't have a sleek feel to it. The design was cool, but there were so many bumps on it, it just didn't feel like a stealthy design.
