Should he take over for Stark when he's down, should they double team a bad guy or both.

I think both things are gonna happen.

An idea I had for Crimson Dynamo, but would also include War Machine, would be that Stark sees the armor as a way to really protect, save lives, and change the world,
So he makes another armored suit (War Machine) for another wearer,
later he makes another (Crimson Dynamo) to expand it to Russia but that goes wrong when the wearer of the Crimson Dynamo becomes corrupt using the suit for his own gain. Giving reason to why Stark doesn't just develop more of the suits for every single soldier in the army.

in the first movie he defeated iron monger alone without 100% power.

this new villain will need to be very powerfull .

I remember hearing about how they were filming at an air base for the Hammer character with some like air drones or something. Maybe WM needs to help Iron Man fight a battle in two spots at once.

I think that the character wont appear until the climax. I think that there will be one action scene before then that will take place after Vanko has upgraded to the CD suit and kicks Stark's ass in said battle. So come the climax, Tony goes to Rhodes for help.

How should War Machine be used?

He shouldn't be used before Rhodes first fills in for Tony in the regular Iron Man armor, I'd say. The War Machine armor shouldn't be his first armored experience. And if they want to hold WM off until IM3, then I'm fine with that.

I think WM should only make a late appearance at a fight when the Stark has the upperhand and/or already won.

Stark: "You're late".
Rhodes: "Blame the suit".

As little as possible. We have had only one Iron Man movie. I want to see more Iron Man before we start adding a bunch of supporting characters.

I agree, we barely got any Tony Stark/Iron Man action in the last one, I don't want this one to be the same or turn out like the Batman franchise of the 90s where there were just too many heroes and villains.

War Machine's role should be about as long as Gambit or Deadpool's role in Wolverine or his fight scene should be about as long as Mace Windu's in ROTS, minus him getting killed of course.

This is the Iron Man show.

I think we will get plenty of Iron Man action now that the origin story line is done and he is an established hero. War Machine will prob be in it 10 mins. at most.

Sparingly like salty things.

Actually, I don't think now is the time for WM. Iron Man 3, with Mandarin and his hopefully mystical chi/energy manipulating rings would be the perfect time for him to step in. As of now, I don't see a need for him. I'm thinking that if they do a storyline where Hammer is leaking armors to the Mandarin's lackeys, then Tony is going to be doing everything he can to stay on top of the leaks and illicit use of his tech. But then in part 3, the Mandarin and his rings would be the straw that breaks the camel's back.

Actually he didn't. If it wasn't for Pepper's help he'd be dead - techincally he thought of the plan, but he needed her to throw the switch to blow the reactor.

This is how I think that War Machine will be introduced:

I think that when Stark hands over the designs of the Iron Man suit to the senator, the US Military makes the War Machine suit from it & not Stark. It will look similar to the Iron Man suit due to Starks designs. To me that seems logical as Tony is still probably anti-war in his carry over from the first movie - it would be a huge turnaround for him to do a 180 on that standpoint, and could destroy the tone if he were to make the suit. However, if the US military make it - its all good. And what do the military create? War machines.

Rhodey will be the obvious candidate to pilot the prototype, due to his military rank & ties to Stark.

I really hope Stark is the one that creates the War Machine armor and not the government.

I don't think so. Tony didn't become anti-war. He became anti-irresponsible use of military technology. There's a difference. If he was anti-war he wouldn't have continued to make the Iron Man suits in the first place. Him just giving the tech to the military/govt? Now that would be a 180 turn around. He doesn't trust them to use his stuff responsibly. In the comics he refused to patent any of his stuff since it would require him to give the blueprints and such to the patent office, a govt agency. He knew they'd either not keep it secure enough and some criminal would aquire the plans or even more likely, the govt itself would steal them and make their own armors based on his designs.

I expect when the WM suit is made that it will be Stark who makes it just like in the comics.

Now I do expect that at some point(maybe in this film, maybe not) that Stark will compromise and create guardsmen-type armors for the govt. But he'll design them much less powerful than the Iron Man armor and intentionally design the suits to fry themselves if the govt decides to try and reverse engineer them or take them apart to see what makes them work.

I don't think he will "just give the designs" up either - I never said that. I can see the US Government essentially demanding to look at the designs which is how these events could unfold. Also, I do see Tony Stark as being "anti-war". If you stop making military weapons when its a big apart of your bread & butter because you finally realize the full implications, then I dont think you are supportive or even indifferent to war. You'd be pretty much against it. Which is why he made his announcement at the press conference after his return to the US.

He's also admitted to being Iron Man straight up - and that never happened right away in the comics....it took many, many years for that to eventuate. What happens/works in comics doesn't always translate to what works in film. Faverau has shown that, and while you have to respect the source you also don't always have to be a slave to it.

I don't see how the govt can force him to give them up, especially since(at least in the comics) he keeps the most important stuff in his head(like how the mini arc reactor works which is the lynchpin in the whole thing). Now I'm sure they'll try to persuade him to give them up, but whether they succeed in that tactic is up in the air. Most likely not, though.

And he didn't say we're never making weapons again at the press conference. He said until further notice, he would be shutting down production until he could take a good look at where he wanted his company to go in the future. There are not only two choices, hawk or dove. Tony Stark didn't go from a hawk to a dove. He went from a hawk to a moderate.

And you're right, stuff doesn't always happen the same as in the comics. But I think having the govt make the WM armor would be a mistake.

Now we obviously know that some stuff is going to be stolen by the likes of Justin Hammer, but that's a seperate issue.

Id like to see IM and WM get into a little confrontation or something. Tony always seems to tick him off a little. And maybe if alcohol is an issue for Tony in this film, perhaps Rhodes finally says something to him and tony gets ticked as hes drunk and they fight.

Something like that. Just excited to see War Machine, hopefully they use him

I think this is the first thing that has ever been throughly explained to me.

I see my world around me in a whole new light.

I think war machine should keep Tony in check while he's trying to battle his addiction, I'd like to see him and Tony duke it out in an armored battle. So later he completely takes over the iron man role temporarily, but when the villain arises he knows he'll need tonys help taking him down.

They said they werent going to get into the addiction on this film . if he shows up it would be under different circumstances i think .
