How strong is Wonderman?

It's also been said that WM was intended to be the Marvel Superman at one point

That distinction clearly falls to Hyperion, Gladiator, and the Sentry now, though. Wonder Man hasn't really resembled Superman at all for... ever.

Agreed, but it was true at one time

See my earlier post. 'According to the Official Handbook of the MU he's able to lift 95 tons'.

You can't get anymore 'official' than that. ;) :D

I am humbled. :(

Generally it's a bad idea to use numbers for strength levels in comics. They'll almost always prove inaccurate.

Wonderman at present is pretty much at the top of the second tier of heavy hitters.
The first Tier would be Hulk, Thor, Herc, Sentry etc
Second tier would be Wonderman, Thing, Atlas, Giant man, She hulk, Sampson etc.

If not as strong as Thor-he is definitely close to the Thunder God's powerl levels-exceeding even Hercules!

Terry

Though not as strong as Thor or Hercules he is faster and more indestructible. Overall in physical prowess he is undoubtedly superior to either if you ignore the hammer.

Always wondered how he was able to hold his own against the Vision, Ironman and Thor at the same time,
(Don't go there,.. there were PICTURES!!),

But then get hampered by War Machine, or the west coast Avengers.

the thing cant lift 200 tons... period.
wondermans stronger than the thing by the way. Abomination is stronger than wonderman. abomination rivals the hulk in strength, until the hulk gets mad, which makes his power pretty much limitless.

If who ever was writting FF or Thing's series wanted Ben to lift 200 tons it would happen! The same as Thor lifting a 24000 mile snake disguised as a dragon. Or the Hulk bracing the wieght of a mountain range in Secret Wars 1 (or 2 I forget).

It was 1

The power levels will grow in proportion to the real world.

ex Leaping tall buildings becomes leaping the time stream

I think he meant he has a higher level of endurance.

Yeah, I figured... I just like pointing out peoples mistakes :)

wonderman doesnt have more endurance than thor either. im not sure about herc, but i doubt it, too.

According to Marvel, Wonderman can go for a good hour or so at peak performance before he tires.

you think that thor and herc tire within an hour?

No.

They can go for almost as long as Hulk can.

I hate the new character desciptions that Marvel has created. It gives almost no idea as to a character's capability.

i think they are just trying to compete with those super-overpowered DC charecters

omg lolz i kno, batman's so totally teh overp0wrdd!!1

I think there was one instance where Thor fought someone literally for an entire day without tiring. Regardless, Wonder Man should probably have more endurance than Thor. He's literally made of energy.

i think he being a being of energy doesnt compare to an actual god of thunder. but i guess i can be wrong since i have never seen WM tire. either way, i put thor on a high mark, which is only challenged by the hulk in midgard...oh yeah, mr. million exploding suns too

The only place where her strength is written down as a number is on top trumps, yes i'm sad, she has strength 41, which is out of 50, hulk and superman having 50. just for scale, giant man has strength 47, ironman 48, martian manhunter 46, captain america 29, thor 49. Just so you get an idea, abomination has strength 49.

any help?

The energy comment doesn't have anything to do with status. Thor's a god, but he's still a corporeal being. Wonder Man is literally made of energy; exhaustion occurs when you're out of energy; Wonder Man can pretty much never run out of energy. Simple deduction.

A lot more people than the Hulk and the Sentry are near Thor's strength level, too. The Silver Surfer, Gladiator, Hyperion, Drax, etc.

Thor and Hercules are completely tireless and can keep going on forever. Hulks endurance is less than theirs but still very good. Wonder Man I don't know about. When I said indestructible in my earlier post that is what I meant. Thor, Hercules, and The Thing are very durable compared to a normal human and are bulletproof but can be harmed for example by a bazooka shell. Wonder Man, however, is much more impervious to harm. His body is super hard and people have been slightly injured just by running into him. Wonder Man was a stuntman in the movies and used to use his invulnerability in his work by taking falls and allowing himself to be blown up in powerful explosions because it couldn't hurt him
