Harsh languish?.... (just kidding, a little Alien II humor).

Although, I'll admit that I haven't had a chance to read up on the whole coming of Vulcan, and how he became to ultimately hate the Shi'Ar, other than the back history of him being stripped from his dead mother's womb, given accellerated growth, only to be forced into slavery for years.

Otherwise, my predictions are that there will be a serious scuffle amongst the Summers brothers and X-Men, as well as a few other Marvel superheroes (hopefully Vulcan vs. Silver Surfer), and eventually a verbal "therapy session" with Scott.... A certain Chris Claremont storyline comes to mind, but I could be wrong.

How do you foresee this coming to a conclusion without an entire species being extinct, or any key characters dying?

I'd go with some Darwin-Rachel-Havok team-up. Darwin was his friend, Rachel has the Omega Phoenix firepower to kick his ass and she's his niece and Havok is his brother.

But I don't want them to stop him before destroying the Shi'Ar Empire. I want him to kick those Shi'Ar butts for being jerks all these years.

What I can't understand is how the X-Men are going to reach Chandilar if they don't have that teleporting things Vulcan destroyed. I guess we'll see

Does anyone know where Deadly Genesis fell in terms of the Astonishing timeline?

I should probably pick this Uncanny series up...

Using the Shiar death Commando's? or the x-men might use them..or let marvel girl Swipe his Memory

Well I think the we will see Vulcan take on the entire Shi'ar Imperial Guard, and win.

I think they'll probably have to talk him down. In terms of powers:

* Warpath and Nightcrawler don't have that level of power.

* The other four mutants all have variables attached to their potential effectiveness:

- Polaris can manipulate the trace metal in a person's blood, or, at least, she could pre-HoM. Her post-Blood of Apocalypse powers mimic her old ones, but they're more difficult to control.

- Havok's got a lot of firepower, but it's doubtful it would be of much use against his brother.

- Rachel's an Omega-level telepath; on paper, she's probably the best candidate.

- Darwin's a wild-card. His power is situational, and, depending on the situation, he could defeat Vulcan.

I reckon they should just fix him up with one of the X-Girls, then get her to not put out until he stops trying to destroy the universe.

Its like the perfect plan!!!

you don't, you get there to late and say At least we tried and then come go home and watch tv.

The whole third issue was just a waste, in my opinion. Now I just want him to die, and not in nine issues.

Better question - WHY the heck would you stop Vulcan from destroying the freaking bird people who have waaaaaaaaay outstayed their welcome? The era of riding the wave of Star Wars's success is long gone.

Good point! Let him kill them all - and Rachel - and then kill himself if he has enough energy.

so you want to leave space to the skurlls and Kree?

no you place a false memory in his head, so then he wants to kill them too.

Charles was no doubt planning to talk him down, which is why he brought two of Gabe's relatives and Darwin.

Of course, this is pretty much a non-issue, now. It looks like Vulcan is planning to take over the Shi'ar Empire. He expressed pleasure in being called Great Vulcan by a silly plot device calling himself a ship captain, and they brought up Deathbird. Betcha by golly wow, he's going to find and attempt to marry Deathbird.

Someone is supposed to be getting married right.

Oh yeah! And deathbird was one of the faces of that list of "people to die, get married, join the team, etc"...insteresting.

Yeah. The Skrulls and Kree are way cooler than the Shi'Ar.

Skrulls shapeshift. Kree worship a brain in a jar. The Shi'Ar have feathers. Whoopie.

Exactly. I say let him run roughshod over all of them and send them straight to their version of hell. I'll cheer him on.

The x-men shouldn't always be victorious so i'm hoping they get there too late.

Who are we kidding? The X-Men haven't won a battle in years.

I don't know. The events of the Astonishing title don't always carry over into other books, and vise versa.
