BvS How would you have changed the plot in BvS?

Well for a start, I wouldn't have made a Batman vs Superman movie to begin with. I would have made a Man of Steel sequel further expanding on this Superman, his relationship with Lois Lane & how the world perceives him after the events of MoS. I'd establish Lex Luthor as a character, why he hates Superman, then use Metallo as Lex Luthor's way of trying to kill Superman without necessarily implicating himself ie keeping him out of jail for further movies.

At the same time I'd have made a Batman movie that establishes this Batman, why he's so angry & ruthless. In BvS we get glimpses & hints why he's so angry, dead Robin's suit, his argument with Alfred about broken promises, good guys turning bad etc play one of those stores out rather than acting like we are all supposed to know them perhaps the Jason Todd/Red Hood story. If they'd done that then maybe people wouldn't have as hard a time accepting why Affleck's Batman seems off the rails.

Then after you've made those 2, obviously indicating that the 2 share the same universe at points in each movie, then you can start considering Batman/Superman crossover movie depending on where each are at.

[RANT]The biggest problem with Batman vs Superman for me is that WB/DC/Snyder or whoever is responsible, have essentially skipped so, so much glorious potential story angles & potential standalone movies & instead mashed several of them together & bundled it into BvS just to establish the DCEU seemingly as an attempt to try & catch up to the MCU.

It's like WB/DC/Snyder don't understand the wealth of iconic characters & story at their disposal & instead tried to jump on Marvel's coat-tail rather than trying to build their own universe over time.[/RANT]

I agree with this, however i do think the movie could have worked like it is.
Since Batman is the best known comic book character, you can skip a lot of backstory etc imo, even "normal" people know quite a lot about this character.
So its not "absolutly" necessary to give him a movie to build him up i think.
But yeah, it would have done wonders to establish this all and would have helped make the movie tighter and far less overloaded.

To me Personally, Superman is one major thing that broke the movie in terms of Story and character.
I have such a hard time seeing this character as Superman, as somewhat of the opposite of Batman.
There is a difference to me between a darker approach and a downright depressing one...and this Universes Superman feels simply depressing.
Which is a shame since in its core, this Movie Superman has potential.

The Other thing is simply that its overloaded to create a base for a Justice League movie and stuff.
I still dont get why they wanted to catch up with Marvel so fast...why the rush with it?

Metallo and Lex as the villains.

No killing for Batman.

Lex's motivation and plan would be completely changed. No Africa subplot or Wallace, or any of that bullet stuff.

Bryan Cranston as Lex.

Base it more on Public Enemies, and make it more of a Batman/Superman team up.

No TDKR influence. Save that for later.

Mine are a combination of changing the story/plot and keeping the story/plot as is:
Replace Amy Adams
Make story more inline with STAS/BTAS crossover rather than Batman wanting to kill Superman. Have them deal with each other as if they are trying to figure the other out rather than being antagonistic to each other. Have them slowly build to a better understanding of what the other one is about.
WW is in Metropolis because of Black Zero not just to check up on Lex.
More dialogue and actions from Clark/Superman
More interaction between Clark and Lois and Clark and Bruce. Some interaction between Diana and Clark.
Superman speaks at Senate hearing
Instead of Superman saying "you're letting him kill Martha" have him say " you're letting him kill my mother. Martha, her name is Martha; just save her. "
A more traditional Lex, I liked him in the movie but I know most people just can't accept a Lex like him. Plus it's laughable that this Lex looks like a college freshman going up against these grown men.
Did I mention recasting Lois lane?
Not using Doomsday and Killing Superman so soon

Open the movie with the end of MOS, show Bruce arriving, running into the rubble, seeing Superman, glaring, basically the same thing.

OPENING TITLE.

The same terrorist situation where Lois is captured. She sees some of the terrorist figures faces. Superman, without hurting people, saves Lois, but a bomb goes off in the terrorist bunker, burning everyone completely, killing everyone inside.

Then cut to a senate hearing discussing Superman and how he still hasn't been held accountable for the destruction in Metropolis. And with the most recent unauthorized destruction of the terrorist group by Superman, as far as they think, which resulted in the deaths of 2 civilian hostages, they state that it's time they discuss what Superman should do and not what he can do.

Show Clark watching the senator talking about how they're now officially calling Superman out to answer for what he's done, for Metropolis and the deaths of those civilian hostages. He's forlorn. Lois enters their apartment, seeing him watching the senator. She tries to reassure him, telling him that he's not responsible for what happened, he just has to tell the truth. Clark says that he is. He should have seen the bomb, but he wasn't focused enough. It's his fault, it all is.

Batman is a reckless, vicious vigilante. He pummels criminals like rapists and murderers into near comas. Alfred is deeply concerned about Bruce's growing viciousness, fearful that he'll cross the line. Have the scene where Alfred says that everything's changed also have him glance at Jason's costume just as he says it. Jason's death caused him to shut down as a superhero, but after the events of MOS, he's retaken his mission harder than ever. He has nightmares about his parents deaths and Jason's death intermingling into the same event.

Superman is very much playing with kid gloves. After the events of MOS, he's afraid of his powers, the destructive force he has. He doesn't break bones, he tries to avoid destroying property. He doesn't want anyone else to get hurt. He has ptsd-esque flashbacks about the events of MOS. He still works, he's begun a relationship with Lois, which is struggling because of his disconnected attitude. Clark is obsessed with keeping himself from being something that frightens people, so much so that he's formed a partnership with Metropolis' hometown billionaire to help the city...

Lex is paranoid, rich, ruthless and fearful. He's grown and constructed his entire life around being powerful, great and untouchable. And then comes Superman, a powerful creature that is better than, more special than and more powerful than him, something that he can't control, that he can't protect himself from and he can't stand it. He's basically Batman on steroids. The Bruce Wayne worst case scenario. Only in a more self-involved way. He views Superman as a threat in waiting to him personally, not just really the world. Keep Jesse Eisenberg if you must. But make him more physically fit, not overly muscular though.

Lex's birth father abandoned him to be adopted by a broke family in the slums. He was raised by unfit parents, an alcoholic mom and a controlling dad. When they died, he worked his way through college using the insurance money from their deaths and used it to buy stock in his real father's company. When he was discovered by his dad, Lex discovered that his dad had abandoned him to see how he could thrive on his own, to see if he would ever be worthy enough for his company, then telling him that he's seen that's the case and that he's left Lcorp to him in his will. Enraged at him, his entire life being a pawn under the thumb of his real father, Lex killed him. He then used all the knowledge he'd gained to completely change the face of Lcorp, even giving his name to it, along with doing away with the oil business and making Lexcorp a science and military contract based company, creating new medicines, cutting edge research in fringe sciences, along with DNA studies, and weapons. Not to mention all of the jobs Lex created for the city after one of Metropolis' worst financial fallouts, due to the Gotham earthquake that caused significant damage to a part of Metropolis, essentially pulling the city out a kind of depression situation. Lex helped the reconstruction of the city after the battle of Metropolis as well.

Batman, after finding satellite footage from the world engine event of Superman being weakened, goes there to see if he can gather whatever weakened him, where he finds just particles, green dust left from crystalized rocks from the attempted terraforming effect of the world engine. But that's it. He investigates the area more and discovers that Lexcorp was there and took all the crystalized rocks.

Superman goes to the senate hearing where he's asked about his perception, his powers, what he plans to do about them and why he's doing what he's doing. Superman tells them that he just wants to help, that it's all he ever wanted. He's asked if he thinks the help that destroyed Metropolis by a mother of someone who was killed. Superman is visibly broken up and tries to explain that he made a mistake, he thought he could handle Zod, he didn't know it would cause as much destruction as it had.

The senators tell him that his powers aren't something that anyone can afford for him to make mistakes with. They ask him what gives him the right to do what he does when he can cause so much harm, when his mistakes do what they.

Someone tries to say that if Superman had done nothing, the world would be destroyed. Someone then yells that it's because of him that they came in the first place. The other person then yells that they don't know that for sure. A fight breaks out and Superman, worriedly starts to try and stop it, but is told by the senators that they have officials who deal with that and the fight is broken up by the guards.

Superman says that his powers give him the responsibility to try to something about what's happening in the world. They respond that responsibility doesn't give all say over the ways of the world. Superman's then asked that what makes him think that they need his help, that he has the power to fix all the problems of the world. Superman says, "Nothing. I just don't want anyone to be afraid of me anymore, when I'll I've ever wanted to do was keep as many people safe I could." They then say that he can't ever do enough.
The hearing ends, them telling him that despite the good he's done, it doesn't matter what he can do, that doesn't give him the right to act on behalf of humanity, especially if the cost of that can be the lives of innocents, and finally that they'll reconvene the next day for a complete decision. Superman leaves.

Lex uses the kryptonian ship, which was given to him as apart of his military contracts and a sample of Superman's DNA to create a clone, a mentally deficient clone, even a decaying one, something that he can control. He uses it to frame Superman for attacks. The first one being the senators from the hearing.

This shakes Superman. He sees the public and understands that no matter what he does, he won't be trusted by them, that he feels he shouldn't be, with everything he can do, everything he's done. He nearly quits because of this. It's really all about Superman's sense of inferiority. He's afraid that he can't help people now that they know he's out there. He's afraid that even though he knows the attacks happening aren't his fault he still fears that it's something he could be capable of. He doesn't see himself as helpful to the world, but as a negative force in it.

There's a running theme of a feeling of inferiority in this story. Lex feels inferior, because Superman's existence makes him feel powerless and inadequate. Batman feels helpless as ever to do good, to help people, because of such a destructive creature like Superman being around. This feeds into his already intense powerlessness at the loss of Jason Todd at the hands of the Joker due to his, as far as Batman's concerned, inaction.

Batman and Superman cross paths twice before the fight. Once during a bank robbery and another during an altercation where Superman does x-ray through Batman's cowl and tells him to stop his vigilantism. Batman rejects this and begins building his suit to combat Superman after he sees the stories about Superman's attacks, that are really Bizarro. Superman does some digging on Bruce Wayne, finding out about his parents deaths and the death of his ward, Jason Todd. He sees an escalation in Batman's viciousness ever since Jason Todd's death.

Batman breaks into Lexcorp to steal the kryptonite.

When Alfred discovers that Batman's making preparations to kill Superman, he tries to stop him, to convince him not to, that there must be an explanation for what's happening, saying that Superman has helped people and it makes no sense to turn on them now. Batman gives Alfred a version of the 1% speech, only this time citing Harvey Dent as an example of someone who wanted to help, but still turned on people. Alfred tells Bruce that if he does this, he's leaving like the others left and he's not coming back, that he can't prove 100% that it's Superman, that it could be another kryptonian come to earth. Bruce just says that the chance can't be taken. Alfred walks away.

Meanwhile Lex has been keeping tabs on Superman, tracking an energy signature that he gives off using his satellites and an understanding of kryptonian DNA that he got from breaking Zod's body down, leading him to discover his identity. Though the body is now destroyed because of the process he used to do this. He then kidnaps Martha, framing Batman for it, placing a batarang at the scene that he'd taken from Gotham police evidence lockup.

Lois investigates Superman attacks. She tracks them to Lexcorp and recognizes Lex's goons leaving the building from the opening terrorist confrontation, following them.

Superman is basically winning the fight, until he stops himself and begins to realize that he and Batman have been manipulated by Lex. Batman capitalizes on Superman's stopping and uses his kryptonite weapons. And Batman begins beating Superman brutally, mercilessly, and we see flashes before Batman's eyes of Jason Todd being beaten half to death by the Joker with the crowbar.

During the fight Alfred would try to convince Batman over the comm to stop, but Batman turns it off, saying that he has to.

He would then tell Superman that he's let too much death happen because he wouldn't do what was necessary and that he won't let that happen again. But Superman would convince Batman that he doesn't have to do this, to cross this line, that he understands how he feels. That powerlessness can make you lose sight of what's right, it can make you make mistakes, big ones that you'll regret for the rest of your life. That you can feel like you can't save anyone. That doing this will make him lose what's good in him and he might never get it back and then, confirming that he knows who he is, says, "Bruce, this isn't who you are. You can be better than this. You have to make a choice about the kinda man you wanna be. Do you want to be this?" Batman flashes back to his father telling him that in life you have to make a choice about the kinda man you wanna be. And Bruce realizes what he was about to do, what he was about to become and crumbles to the ground under the weight of that realization.

Lois tracks the goons to a building, sneaking in, where she finds Martha and unties her. She then calls Clark and tells him this and hearing the name Martha, Bruce is snapped out of his guilt stupor and realizes that he can still be a hero. Lois' then caught by Lex's men. Batman then hears from Alfred that Superman's attacking the city, or rather Bizarro is and he tells Superman. Superman isn't sure what to do and turns to Batman for help, who says that he'll go after his mom, that Martha won't die tonight, no one will.

Batman goes to Lois' location, with Alfred tracking her phone GPS. He fights the goons and saves Martha and Lois.

Superman confronts Lex and tries to make Lex stop Bizarro. Lex tells him about Bizarro with, "Aliens, metahumans, magic, it's truly bizarre times we live in. Only fair that we make something just as bizarre to combat it." He says he thought Lex was his partner, a friend. Lex tells him, "With you? After demolishing a chunk of the city, you expect any human to be a friend to those terrifying hands. The hands that'll now be responsible for the city's destruction again."

Superman, angry now, asks Lex, "Why? I only wanted to help."

"Why? Good question... Ya know, I was the hero of the city before you got here, grew up in the slums with 2 poor thugs, abandoned by my real father, and when he died I saw my opportunity to take what was rightfully mine, I pulled the city out of mediocrity and made my company and it a shining beacon for the world, then your alien invasion obliterated everything I worked for. And I put it back together again and you know who everyone cheered for? Superman. You stole everything that I earned. It's what you're here to do, take away the power human's have, decide our fate for us. To stand above us all and lord your power so we all bow down and worship you. You don't get to do that. You hold humanity's destiny in your hands and I'm taking it back. The world will look at your corpse and see you for the monster here to take our fates out of our hands that you really are. And I'll be their hero. I guess I should thank you though. You helped me see that this world was larger than I thought." Lex then snaps his fingers and Superman's tackled by Bizarro. The fight leads through the city, Bizarro trying to endanger people, Superman working extra hard to save them.

Batman hears about the fight from Alfred about and goes to help. Him and Superman together fight Bizarro. Batman using his kryptonite weapons, as Superman helps people. Batman and Superman work together to defeat Bizarro. After Bizarro is subdued, Batman's about to use his kryptonite weapon to against him, considering killing him. But Superman stops him, saying that he promised that no one would die tonight, saying that there has to be another way, that he's learned that it will only cause more pain, that this creature is just something else Lex has manipulated. Superman and Batman go to arrest Lex. Superman tells Lex he's going to make him answer for everything he's done. Lex stabs Superman in the arm and sets off a kryptonite bomb to explode and kill them, then jumping for the elevator, but Batman saves Superman, protecting him with his lead suit and the aftershock of the firey kryptonite residue hits Lex.

Aferwards Superman and Batman talk, Batman deeply apologizing for what he nearly did and Superman responding that what he nearly isn't what's important now, but we did do and what he will do. He did what was right. And that's why he knows that he can trust him. Superman decides to trust Batman with the kryptonite, saying that if anything were to happen, he now trusts him to stop him. He says that he's tried to be perfect, to be above people, but he's not and that's why he's been tormented, he's held himself to an impossible standard. He's NOT God. Not a Savior. And he has no right to allow people to think that he is. He's only human. And it's time that he accept that and start accepting help, saying that he has Batman to thank for helping him see that. Batman says that it's time he does the same.

Montage this with Lex in the hospital, the kryptonite having poisoned his DNA, making him lose his hair, it being publicly stated that there was no evidence to say he was behind Bizarro, due to the creature decaying, as all those associated with the ship defense projects are dead. And Superman confronts him, telling him that he'll put him away and accurately surmises that Lex's ego won't let him tell anyone else his secret identity. Lex himself wants the honor of destroying Superman and now Superman knows that Lex has his eyes on his family, so he'll always be prepared for him.

Then Batman comes back to the batcave to see Alfred waiting for him. He tells Alfred that he's sorry and hugs him. And he helps Bruce clean Joker's message off of Jason's costume, making it no longer a reminder of Batman's failure, but a memorial in Jason's memory. He then contacts Oracle, telling her to tell Dick that he's back. Alred, for the first time in the movie, smiles.

And Clark proposes to Lois, saying that he's ready to let her in now.

END.

Post Credits Scene is Wonder Woman informing Bruce about the coming war. Diana would still be laced throughout the movie. But more briefly. We don't even know she's WW until this moment. She breaks into Lexcorp and destroys all the files on metas, which Lex has still accumulated. After WW1, she's made herself extremely low key and protecting of the identities of other heroes and by going into Lex's files, she found out that the kryptonian ship as it was held by Lexcorp picked up an message indicating Darkseid's attack.

First, I loved the opening scene from BVS so I would keep that in there. Seeing the Battle of Metropolis from Bruce’s perspective was an awesome way to kick off the conflict, introduce us briefly to Bruce displaying his courageousness and selflessness, and quickly tie us back to MoS which was the first film in our universe to tie in with this film. I would only slightly tweak this by having Bruce talking to Alfred the whole time trying to use Wayne Enterprises satellites to track the battle while Alfred warns Bruce to be careful, reminding him that he’s “not Batman anymore.” Bruce makes his way towards the Wayne Enterprises Metropolis location since there would be more than one Wayne Enterprises building obviously the one in Gotham but also the one here in Metropolis. Anyway Bruce is on his way over to the Wayne Enterprises Metropolis office to oversee a project of some kind hoping he can use some old tech from his Batman days to stop the World Engine. That’s when he sees the Engine get destroyed. Bruce asks Alfred if the Kryptonians are gone using the satellites again. That’s when Zod and Superman begin duking it out. The Wayne Enterprises satellites one by one get knocked out especially the one in Metropolis, meaning Bruce can’t track the fight anymore. The scene plays out pretty much the same, only this time, the security guard Bruce saves from the wreckage is named John cue the Metallo tie-in which is what I would go for.

Opening credits hit and instead of a rehash of Batman’s origins, we get a news montage sequence, showing a mix of stories about Superman, as well as newspaper headlines about the return of The Batman which we would see Bruce back in action as Batman after the whole Battle of Metropolis. In the film we would see that Bruce has retired as Batman and has been living life as Bruce Wayne, billionaire playboy philanthropist in the public eye not only for Wayne Enterprises but just overall in the media which show us that Bruce has been “retired” as Batman for 5 years prior to the Battle of Metropolis. The montage would also show us that Superman is generally seen in a positive light by most people after the battle with Zod but then we would see most people in society still afraid of Superman and or that he has no limitations or no supervision hence the Battle of Metropolis playing a huge role with the US government.

The credits end and we open on downtown Metropolis approximately 6 months to a year later after the whole Battle of Metropolis. It’s a memorial anniversary day for the Battle of Metropolis, and the city is unveiling the Heroes Memorial Park. The event is both meant to honor those lost, but also to thank those that stepped up to help Metropolis rebuild. Specifically being honored are Lex Luthor and Bruce Wayne, whose companies invested heavily in the reconstruction efforts. Lex gives a speech, and we get our first look into how charismatic and, most importantly, manipulative he is. Second thing I would change would be the overall casting of Lex Luthor because I definitely would not go for someone like Jesse Eisenberg but someone more older. I would have gone with Timothy Olyphant as Lex Luthor. He manages to both thank/praise Superman for saving humanity from Zod but also plants the seeds of fear towards Superman too by the end of his speech. We learn that LexCorp was given access to the Kryptonian ship, through which its R&D division has been making massive breakthroughs in medical and technical science. Areas such as advanced prosthetics, data storage systems, construction materials. Through the Kryptonian tech, humanity is stronger. He finishes his speech by stating that if there was one thing the Battle of Metropolis has taught the people is that humanity needs Kryptonian technology especially when it comes to defending themselves because he could say what if Superman goes rogue one day then they could use the technology as a nuclear deterrent to stop Superman should it ever come to that. The scene ends with the statue of Superman being unveiled with Clark/Superman being a reporter for the Daily Planet covering this as it's happening watching from the press pool with Lois who would also be there covering the same story as Perry would put them on this, and Bruce looking sternly at the statue.

Next scene would be Lois in Africa but what I would change would be Jimmy Olsen not being a CIA agent but also being a fellow reporter for the Planet and that he more or less tags along with Lois for the Africa story. Also, none of Lex’s goons are present. This is truly just Lois and Jimmy meeting with the warlord, who’s had an iron grip on the region, stamping down resistance through violence. Olsen gets shot but he lives and doesn't die here and then Lois is threatened. That’s when we hear a sonic boom and Superman drops down. The warlord’s men open fire, but the bullets just bounce off of him. He speeds through the warlord’s men though not killing them. Finally, he takes down the warlord and flies off with both Jimmy and Lois. He drops them both off at the nearest U.S. military base for evacuation and to also make sure that Jimmy gets medical attention and then Superman blasts off again. As he leaves, we see a black SUV roll up to the warlord’s complex. Lex is in the car with his goons. That’s where we see Lex’s goons, who proceed to kill all of the warlord’s men until finally executing the warlord. Lex is watching all of this happen right in front of him as he seems almost amused.

Next scene we are back in Gotham, and we get our first look at Batman in action fighting crime in his own element in Gotham City. This time, we’re witnessing an arms smuggling coming into the Port of Gotham. This plays out similar to the docks scene in Batman Begins. Batman takes out one goon at a time, from the shadows, with us only hearing their screams. Finally, the last goon runs right into Batman, who bursts from the shadows and takes him down. He strings the goon up by his wrists and begins interrogating him about where the new weapons are coming from. The goon tries to remain silent, through which Bats beats him repeatedly showing that this is a much more vicious Batman but he doesn't kill the goon but roughs him up really bad until the goon finally relents and says that he works through a guy in Metropolis, someone who’s got access to that “alien crap.” Batman right away knows that it is LexCorp. The police being to arrive where we see and are introduced to Commissioner Gordon and his people, just as Batman drives away in his Bat Mobile where we get introduced to that as well.

Next scene we are back in Metropolis as Lex is hosting a number of senators for a display of some of the major advancements LexCorp has been making with the Kryptonian tech. We see that LexCorp is also making weaponry based on Kryptonian tech. He also shows them a new mineral power source his men discovered in the wreckage of the World Engine that being kryptonite. Though his company is still working on a way to synthesize it, he has a substantial supply of raw kryptonite being used for study. One of the applications is a new prosthetic body for mass-injury victims. He brings the group to a medical room, where they see a man in a full body-cast. Lex introduces him as John Corben, a former Wayne Enterprises security guard whose body was severely crushed when the Wayne Enterprises Metropolis office fell on him. Corben will be the first test subject in LexCorp’s experimental full-body prosthetic transplant, powered by kryptonite. Lex pitches the concept as a way to revolutionize the medical field and offer new possibility for mass-injury victims. It could also have military implications, opening up the possibility of human supersoldiers who could defend humanity against the next alien invasion. The senators reject the project, deeming it a farce and questioning the moral implications. Cue Lex's darker side again coming into play.

We get some Lois and Clark time, similar to the actual film. Though, this is interrupted by news reports about the warlord’s death and how it has sparked a massive civil war in the region. The reports claim that Superman is responsible. This leads to the debate over Superman’s autonomy and reckless actions. Cue a Captain America Civil War type thing here with the US government. Superman is called in before Congress at DC.

Meanwhile, Batman well Bruce breaks into LexCorp R&D, hacks some of the files on Kryptonian research to send to Alfred who intercepts the info at the Batcave on the Batcomputer and finds a large deposit of kryptonite. Bruce of course steals that for himself. As Alfred is decrypting some of the files, he finds research on the effects of kryptonite on Kryptonian DNA from experiments Lex performed on Zod’s corpse, determining that it can be used as a weapon against a Kryptonian. They also see reference to a Project: METALLO which of course ties into Corben yet again but the rest is heavily encrypted. Batman steals the rest of the files and leaves.

At the Senate hearing, it plays out much in the same way as in BvS. Superman enters the room, and there’s a hushed silence. Immediately, Superman feels...off. But he chalks this up to the emotion of the room. This time John Corben/Metallo testifies in his new prosthetic body. He testifies about the pain he has endured, about how while he’s immensely grateful to Lex Luthor for giving him a new chance at life with this body, he is no longer able to enjoy life the same way. His body has no sense of touch, enjoyment of food, pleasure. He feels like a hollow shell of a man. And it’s because of Superman and “his people.” He turns to Superman and says, “I will make sure you know the harm you’ve caused me.” Suddenly, Superman feels immensely weakened, as Corben’s chest reveals the shard of kryptonite. There’s a sudden explosion, wiping out the entire room of Congressmen and Congresswomen. We see Corben with much more of his metal body exposed climb away from the flames, while Superman is left stunned on the floor having been weakened by the kryptonite.

In the Batcave, Batman watches footage of the explosion, and in his blinded paranoia of Superman, begins production of his kryptonite weaponry. He decides it’s time to hunt down Superman once and for all. Alfred tries to talk him out of it, noting the good that Superman has done and that Bruce is rushing to judgment. Bruce gives him “1% chance” speech, and Alfred walks away in disgust. Cue montage of Bruce developing his gear.

The rest of the movie plays out very similarly. Bruce sets up his trap for Superman. Lex kidnaps Lois this time and not Martha Kent. Lex then holds her ransom for Superman calling on him to kill the Batman mostly because Batman has been uncovering LexCorp’s illegal arms dealing. Superman and Batman fight. But this time, before Batman strikes the killing blow, Alfred chimes in from his radio and reveals the finalized decoding of Lex’s files, revealing Lex’s role in framing Superman, both in Africa and D.C. “Superman is not our enemy. Luthor is!” Batman pauses long enough for Superman explain that Lex has kidnapped Lois. Batman tells Superman he’ll go save Lois, so Superman can confront Lex.

We have our Batman warehouse scene again. Batman takes out the men and saves Lois. Lois warns Batman that Lex has another trap set for Superman. Cut to LexCorp R&D, where Lex is waiting for Superman. Superman tells Lex that it’s over, Batman has evidence of Lex’s illegal activities that will bring LexCorp down. Lex feigns disappointment that Batman could follow through on killing Superman, despite the kryptonite he let him obtain. “Fortunately, I know someone who won’t be as forgiving.” Corben steps out of the shadows, only he is clearly larger than before. “Mr. Corben.” “John Corben died when you and your Kryptonian brethren caused Wayne Tower to collapse on top of him. But out of the ashes of that day, Metallo emerged. But he will avenge John Corben’s death, and the deaths of everyone else you Kryptonians killed that day.” Metallo opens his chestplate and reveals the kryptonite core, weakening Superman just as he picks him up and launches him out of the building.

The fight progresses towards Heroes Park, where Metallo bemoans that humanity needs to see Superman for what he truly is. Not a hero, not a savior, but an alien freak who only brings death and destruction. He throws Superman through the Superman statue. At that point, Batman flies in on the Batwing, shooting at Metallo with the Batwing’s guns. Metallo is unphased, as he’s made out of Kryptonian metal salvaged from the World Engine and ship. He charges up his core and fires a kryptonite infused energy blast that knocks out the Batwing’s engine. Batman ejects just before it crashes. Superman tackles Metallo from behind, but he simple opens up a backplate to reveal the kryptonite again, and tosses Superman towards the Batwing’s wreckage. Batman and Superman note that they need to work together, with Superman distracting Metallo long enough for Batman to disable/remove the kryptonite core. Cue some more fight choreography. Metallo begins threatening civilians nearby, but Superman and Batman are able to coordinate their attacks to disable Metallo.

The heroes return to find Lex at the Kryptonian ship, sending the message to Steppenwolf, and he is arrested by the Metropolis police but is gonna be transported to Gotham especially to Arkham prison where we are introduced to Arkham for the first time in the DCEU. As they leave, Superman thanks Batman for trusting in him, to which Batman says that he’s still going to keep a careful eye on Superman. Bruce still is wary of Clark however they go their separate ways as Superman is embraced by a crowd of reporters but embraced by the public all over again as this whole Metallo battle would be on the news for the whole world to see.

Batman returns to the Batcave to Wayne Manor, where Alfred has finished decrypting the remaining LexCorp files. Bruce scans over them and finds a folder marked Metahuman Hypothesis where we would see the metahuman files of Diana Prince/Wonder Woman, Arthur Curry/Aquaman, Barry Allen/Flash, Oliver Queen/Green Arrow, Dinah Lance/Black Canary, Hal Jordan/Green Lantern and Martian Manhunter to finish off the files. He opens it and finds the files we see in BvS along with other characters who we haven't seen yet in the DCEU. Alfred remarks “there are more of them?” And Bruce closes with “Time to get to work.” Cut to credits. Movie is over.

Cue our post credits scene: we see the outline of Steppenwolf to not reveal his full design and Steppenwolf is speaking with a figure in the darkness about the last son of Krypton being on Earth. “He would make a valuable soldier for your legion...Lord Darkseid.”

Darkseid is teased also much like how Thanos was in the Avengers. Cue the film being over.

Makes for a better BVS overall.
