Terrence Howard makes crude remark about Oprah while describing ‘Butler’ love scenes

He has also cited his inability to reprise his Iron Man role in its sequels with “killing” his career.
The Butler is a biopic about the legendary Eugene Allen who served eight different U.S. presidents from the 1950s through the 1980s. The all-star cast includes Robin Williams, Cuba Gooding Jr., John Cusack, Jane Fonda and Forest Whitaker in the lead role.

He's the guy who A) made more money that any other actor for the first Iron Man movie and B) left after Marvel refused to pay him even more for the sequel.

He made more than Jeff Bridges?!

And Jon Favreau, Gwyneth Paltrow AND Robert Downey Jr. he had the least screen time than all the other actors, hard to work with, wasn't the star of the movie and people weren't lining up to see him.

So let us all bring out our small violins to play for him.

I'm so happy he was replaced. I like Cheadle a lot more in the role

The sorts of comments he makes in those articles lead me to believe that the rumors about why he left / was booted from the Iron Man franchise are exactly true.

Tell me you're joking please. I need you to. Don Cheadle is so much better than him. How is this even possible ?

I think when he talks about his career , he is really talking Financially .
IM was probably his last big payday.

He's almost like the Kanye of acting lol after watching him in "Hustle & Flow" and then getting the news he was being cast in the first movie I thought was great. I think Cheadle is a way better choice (he's frickin' Captain Planet!)

That is really incredible if true...........

It's true, and has been common Hollywood scuttlebutt for 5 years.
Howard ruined his own career. Howard ruined his own chances of turning War Machine/Rhodey into a major superhero. I'm glad as hell Cheadle replaced him, and he's frankly a better version of Rhodey.

Like everyone else said: world's smallest violin, yadda yadda yadda.

Its funny with Howard. I followed the guy's career for a while..at one point he was pretty underrated and a lot of people were saying he was net in line to join Will/Denzel/Freeman/SLJ as the next top tier black actor, And then he did hustle and flow, where he was no doubt terrific and deservedly got an oscar nomination.
Then he just got a completely bloated sense of worth and become a grade A *****e..I remember listening to an interview where he was ridiculously arrogant. You could literally see the guys head up his ass. I could not believe it when dude asked for more money than RDJ..i mean wtf?
Cheadle is a much better actor anyway.

Cheadle may be a better actor, but not in this role. I've accepted that he's Rhodey now though so there's no issue.

Howard was adequate in IM1 but I like Cheadle much better in the role.

For me at least, Cheadle doesn't come across much as an action hero.

Howard is younger, taller, and more handsome than Cheadle. He would have been able to carry a solo spin-off with the right supporting cast. I don't think Cheadle carries the weight to do that any longer at this point in his career, unless War-Machine/Patriot is part of an ensemble cast. A War Machine spinoff, for the money it would cost, is simply not worth it at this juncture. So Howard and Marvel effectively killed that project by not settling their differences from the getgo. I don't know if we are ever going to see a CBM with a black actor in the lead now. I don't think John Stewart gets a film after GL bombed, and Luke Cage and Black Panther are too small to garner significant interest. Blade was ground breaking but had an established actor and played off an already popular genre. We will never get a major tentpole with a black hero in the lead for a long, LONG time.

Howard is a grade A *****e full of his own self-importance.

He did a decent enough job in the first film (though I never really found his extremely soft voice and mannerisms believable enough for a commanding authority army figure), but he wasn't so good that he couldn't be replaced. Which is exactly what happened. But I'm not surprised at all that he's now playing the sympathy card and blaming Iron Man for killing his career. He wasn't complaining when the film was released to great praise from almost everyone and his profile shot up. Any problems he has now, he caused himself by getting too greedy.

For a fine example of his *****ebaggery, read the 'baby wipes' interview.
