IT WAS AN EXCELLENT 80'S MOVIE! LEA THOMPSON PLAYED AS THE GIRL SIDE-KICK NEXT TO HOWARD THE DUCK. THE VILLAIN WAS A CREATURE CALLED THE OVER-LORD FROM ANOTHER PLANET THAT WAS ON ACCIDENTLY TRANSFERED THERE THROUGH A TELESCOPE OF SOMESORT THAT ENABLED BEINGS FROM OTHER WORLDS TO TRAVEL TO EARTH. THATS HOW HOARD THE DUCK GOT SUCKED IN. IT WAS AN ACCIDENT THAT HE WAS SUCKED UP OUT OF HIS WORLD AND THROWN ONTO EARTH. TOWARD THE END HE DECIDED TO STAY ON EARTH SO HE COULD USE HIS ONLY WAY OF GETTING HOME TO DESTROY THE DARK OVERLORD. SO IN THE END THEY PLAY THAT REALLY COOL SONG "HOWARD THE DUCK". ALSO KEEP IN MIND THERES ANOTHER COOL ASS 80'S SONG IN THERE EARLIER IN THE MOVIE CALLED "HUNGRY CITY". MOST SONGS WERE INSPIRED BY THOMAS DOLBY (WEIRD SCIENCE WAS A HIT HE PLAYED IN THE 80'S). THEY SHOULD MAKE A SEQUEL. LEA THOMPSON IS STILL ALIVE. SHE'S JUST A BIT OLDER THATS ALL. I SEE HER IN CAR COMMERCIALS SOMETIMES. BUT BESIDES THAT HER CAREER IS GONE REALLY. SHE USED TO BE SO COOL BUT YOU KNOW HOW THE OLD IS OUT WITH THE NEW.

the movie was awful, even the creator of the character thinks so...the comics were brilliant though...I wouldnt mind a remake, with Dr. Bong as the villain, possibly adapting the latest Howard the Duck MAX series

The villian was an exterrestrial "Overlord" that possesed the body of Jefferey Jones (Ferris Beuller's Day Off, Deadwood)....Tim Robbins was a bumbling friend of Lea Thompsaon's character (he and Howard fly one of those motorized hang-gliders together to the rescue) who screws up some things, but is basicly a good guy.

Huh, I got scared that they were actually making a sequel. The original is just plain awful. Howard the Duck is one of those things that works as a comic (Or dunno about that neither. Haven't read them never.) but not as a live action movie.
