Not sure if anyone has seen or heard this before but in the season 1 episode of Justice League, Savage Time pt. 2. There's a quick Human Torch cameo after Superman flies through a German plane he comes out on the other end looking like a certain WWII hero. No one said anything on the commentary but it had to be intentional since they were in the WWII era. Just a cool little thing. Here's a screen cap from www.worldsfinestonline.com judge for yourself.

...that's Superman.

...that's Superman.

I know that, but the likeliness is uncanny. He flies through a German plane and comes out the other side like that and flies for roughly 2 seconds. That had to be intentional. An inside joke like a lot of stuff they do.

But he's part of Marvel....are they allowed to do that?

You can't really sue someone just cause they set a man on fire. Marvel can't copyright "guy on fire" or else they'd be able to sue those Vietnamese monks that set themselves on fire during the Vietnam war.

calm down crazy people I didn't watch the episode so I didn't know it was Supes....sheesh....

Marvel cant copyright powers or how they look thus DC cant do whatever they want as long as they dont call the charecter Johnny Storm/Human Torch

they did a lot of that sort of things. i remember seeing galactus in there and in the final episode they had a captain america tribute too.

There are tons of references to Marvel in JL/JLU. In the later seasons of the show, remember that team with the shiny, cosmic Amazo, underwater king Aquaman, magic using Dr. Fate, and dumb but strong Solomon Grundy? Yeah, those are the Defenders. Amazo = Silver Surfer, Aquaman = Namor, Dr. Fate = Dr. Strange, and Grundy = the Hulk. Hell, Hawkgirl even came in as a sort of Valkyrie wannabe and Dr. Fate's wife Inza tended to their base, much like Wong tends to the Sanctum Sanctorum.

I...never thought of that.

Yeah, to be honest, I think I read about it in a review or something the first time I heard of it. :o

Galactus?

yeah, when darkseid and lex go off while the battles happening, they go to that place and, if memory serves correct, galactus's head/body is carved part of the big wall thing. i may be getting confused, but i am sure.

does anyone remeber any other 'nods' to marvel characters. i always thought grundy was too hulk like to be coincedence.

That was the Source Wall. It's a wholly DC creation. Some of the beings stuck on it probably look like Galactus because they and the wall itself were all designed by Jack Kirby, same as Galactus.

i have that episode i i looked at it.. and there is one that MIGHT looke somewhat like Galactus.. but thats in the same way that DCAU superman looks somewhat like WonderWoman

Yeah, I can see the resemblance there. They both have eyes and mouths and stuff. Plus, the hair. 'Cause it's black on both of them. Or something.

Actually though, one being in the Source Wall DOES look like Galactus... no joke...

but I think the Human Torch thing is stretching it...

The Defender's thing was always a big thing brought up. I never saw the Galactus thing. What episode?

The Human Torch is not a stretch, its definatly a homage. Superman's flown through stuff before and never came out looking like a human torch.

Galactus is in the source wall in the finale.
