Anyone else catch the premiere last night on HBO?

It was OK, nothing spectacular. The Pilot ep was more setup than anything else but looks like it could be decent depending on how they play up the male escort thing.

A really different role than anything we've seen Tom Jane in before. I cant stand his kids though. Not sure how they thought those kids shared any qualities with Jane and Ann Heche, but whatever.

Next week looks interesting.

Yeah I watched the pilot...as I said to my girlfriend, I think we'll need to watch a couple more episodes to see what kind of direction they take this thing, which could be a couple of ways right now.

The casting of the kids almost seems totally non hollywood...both aren't particularly attractive, a little over weight...

I hope they go a little more quirky with it, or bring in some type of mystery or suspense aspect to make us keep coming back...it would have been better if he was still with Ann Heche and had to hide his male escort life from her and the kids...kind of similar to the duel identity storyline that Breaking Bad uses so well...

not really, but nothing terrible either.

i think it'll get better as it goes though, 'cause as mentioned above, this episode was a whole lotta set-up.

Yea I noticed that.

I thought the Pilot was alright, some very funny parts and I've read that the pilot was the weakest of the first few ep's which is reassuring. I'm excited to see where this goes.

it was awesome, don't pay any attention to the naysayers seriously. I found it entertaining and not every kid looks like their parents I mean seriously. ozzy and sharon, even before years of drug abuse and after they don't look like their kids don't look like them at all. So stop trying to nitpick just to shoot the show down. Be real about it, people always say they didn't like a show because its the "cool" thing to hate everything.

Just saw the pilot and I liked it a lot. I didn't have a problem with the 2 emo kids but I agree they don't really fit as the children of Jane and Heche. I didn't really think much about the first customer but after reading Jager X's post, I could see how the customer would be the ex-wife.

Saw the pilot and liked it. I disagree about the kids though. I liked what they did. In real life, most people's kids aren't some kind of miniture ambercrombie version of them. This is more realistic. Plus hey, there ARE fat people in the world. Sometimes I feel like there aren't enough on tv as in America everytime I walk outside I see lots of fat people. Now i've been overseas and it's not like that over there but here...yes.

Exactly thats what I said man. Its more realistic to have 2 chubby kids than to have to Zach Efron looking people. I was just like that kid when I was his age though but back then it was "Grunge" or "Goth" or even "Freak" I hate emos with a passion. Godhead is still around though? All I ever remember hearing about them was that they were the first group signed to Marilyn Mansons label PostHuman Records and to my knowledge the only band. Honestly didnt think they were still around. But I did like the show his pimp is awesome.

Was the second episode only 27 minutes, because the first episode i have is double that? Do i only have half of the second episode ?

One of the first things I noticed. The first thing I noticed is that I recognized almost every scene from the opening.

Best episode of the season on Sunday Night IMO. Although I dont know if the show is catching on. It seemed to have spun its wheels the first 3 weeks, but as of Sunday they really seem to be going somewhere with him accepting being the gigalo. Hopefully HBO keeps it around. Then again I did like John From Cincinnati so what do I know?
