I'm not sure if there's been one of these threads or not. I thought we could share some poems with each other.

I just wrote this one. I've never written one before so don't expect much.

For each second I was near you
Time felt like an eternity
It was a wonderful bliss

But you had to leave
And when you weren’t around
Things went from Heaven to Hell

Even in my sleep
I couldn’t escape you
And your intoxicating presence

Every thought I have of you
I hope it brings me closer to you
Maybe it’ll be worth it sooner than I think

Feelings that I can’t explain
Thoughts that I can’t justify
It’s all because you’ve entered my mind and heart

Confusion takes over
But I’ve never been so sure in my life
I absolutely need you

But I have to remember this isn’t fiction
I’m not the hero or the villain
So what can you expect from the ending?

I'm sure I'm not the only one who's got some poems laying around on the computer. Let's see 'em!

I wish I would've seen this earlier. I write myself, and I was definitely looking for a thread like this. Your posted poem seemed to convey what you were feeling, and I really loved it because I can relate to it.:csad:Here's the latest poem I wrote last month.

We'll All Be Equal Eventually
We is a term that often fails to accurately portray us.
Those of us that hold heightened existence ostracize unity in favor of esteemed division.
Erroneous self philosophies are birthed from systems that long oppose logical equality.
Build the curious into antagonists before they can reason.
Tear down their name with a dogma that only evolves to keep an enemy.
Go ahead and eradicate our latent collective legacy with your illusory hierarchies.
We'll finish your job with our fallacious obsessions with melanin.
Since we long abandoned logic, we are like drones to the idea of idiocy.
Our rules of existence will eventually come to claim us all as equal.
We'll all die someday.
Our selfish manifestations will survive to corrupt our legacies like a virus,
And the cycle will repeat itself as our well oiled assemblage goes unnoticed.
Ironically we'll celebrate the only thing that keeps us even.
We honor those we disintegrated by our savage feudalism with gifts of inconsequential amnesia and empty slogans.
At the same time we'll continue to ravage unity like an immortal parasite.
The human mind is an amazing construct indeed.
We are a paradox of ingenuity and immaturity.
