Hypothetical - Unsung Villians and Ant-Man

This is just for fun.

So I have continued to ponder the Ant-Man film and various arguments for or against its success. One of the arguments against is that he really doesn't possess a well-developed rouge's gallery. If we were to stick to canon, you'd probably have to use Egghead or the Human Top, both of which are not very visible characters and would take quite a bit of TLC to bring to the screen. Ultron is also a contender, but I'd really like to save him for the Avengers movie.

Then I got to thinking, are there any really great villains in the Marvel universe that we most likely won't get a chance to see and if so, how would they work as a hypothetical villain for Ant-Man?

For example, Carnage is a great villain that we most likely won't ever see because of the convoluted nature of his origin. However, his connection with Spider-Man excludes him from crossing over. On the other hand, Mole Man is a great FF villain that we will most likely never see due to the sacking of the FF franchise (for the time being), and one that might work well as an Ant-Man adversary (underground hive-minding types that they both represent).

Any other ideas?

Its an interesting idea, but I wonder if they could use a Universe spandin villain rather than a character specific rogue, someone like Hammerhead the gangster or The Hood. Not those in specifically but along those lines.

Hammerhead is a GREAT idea, and one that would fit with the "gangster-of-the-week" villains that Pym crossed in the early Cold War days. I don't know the Hood so well, but there is an interesting Battleworld connection there.

More?

If Ant-Man comes before the Avengers, it is the perfect springboard for Ultron.

And I'm under the impression that the Ant-Man "villain", if you want to call him that, is going to be Scott Lang, who steals the suit.

But Lang steals to save his daughter so those other guys would be the big villain unless you use the O'Grady (or whatever his name is) as the thrillseeking Antman theif.

^ That's why I put villain in quotes.

I don't know why but I feel we'll get an Antman that'll somewhat have his own continuity and have its own original villain. At least thats the vibe I got from Wright in the recent interview.

Which is why it is fun to hypothesize. Rather than an "original" villain, wouldn't it be neat if they used a property that might not ever be exploited? Sure, it probably won't happen, but we can still daydream about what it might be like to see Pym (in his earliest incarnation) tousle with a great, underrated villain as he struggles to realize his worth as a hero.

If Ant-Man comes before the Avengers, it is the perfect springboard for Ultron.

I think so, too. I'm really trying hard not to be disappointed if this does not happen.

What about a Hulk/Ant-Man crossover where Pym takes on the Leader? This could mirror his struggles with Egghead, if handled properly.

Like the good old days when all the heroes guest starred in Hulk movies (Daredevil and Thor :D)

Argh, those days weren't really all that good.
