Chris Pine stars in I Am The Night, premiering January 2019 on TNT!

From executive producer Patty Jenkins (Wonder Woman), I Am the Night tells the incredible story of Fauna Hodel (India Eisley) who was given away at birth. As Fauna begins to investigate the secrets to her past, she follows a sinister trail that swirls ever closer to an infamous Hollywood gynecologist, Dr. George Hodel (Jefferson Mays), a man involved in the darkest Hollywood debauchery. Chris Pine plays Jay Singletary, a former Marine-turned-hack-reporter/paparazzo.

Is Patty doing a Batman thing? That's AWES-- oh. :o

That is shockingly good looking. I know it's on TNT, but what it really looks like is a mid-budget thriller with some searing ideas. You know, something Patty could've made into a movie 20 years ago, but now it has to be a miniseries.

Oh well, still looks intense and I am in.

Starts this Monday...

I liked the first episode they showed it last night on TNT as a preview. The acting is strong. India Eisley plays a biracial teen in the mid-20th century and what that was like and she has a
a mysterious past that she discovers
that is at the center of the story and Chris Pine's character is a washed-up reporter at the end of his rope that is used for comedy in the first episode. Whether the two very different tones of their sets of scenes (Eisley's and Pine's) separately work for all audiences is a question though.

Mom "faking" her death just to get Fauna to come home for a bit...just wow.

I thought the first episode was a tad meandering and unfocused. I suppose the intention was to slowly set up the separate enigmas, and then gradually connect them together. But as an intro, it seemed like there should have been a stronger hook to draw the audience in.

This seemed like a pretty big misstep for Jenkins and Pine. The show seems to have leaned too much into its pulpy roots, to the point of being nearly cartoonish. It felt quite low budget, too, which is a shame in the era of peek TV. Hopefully WW84 is nothing like this.

Two episodes in and I’m finding the acting to be somewhat exaggerated and over-the-top. The only one playing it more reserved is India Eisley (as Fauna Hodel).

I've enjoyed it so far, now with only the finale to go. For something made not on a well budgeted cable channel, it's one of the better shows out there. Better than The Passage. :(

it's really, really, good! It's so disappointing that it's only a limited series. :(

I don't know if Chris Pine would have signed on to anything larger, he's got lots of movies to make. :p

I haven't watched the finale yet, but I've been enjoying this quite a bit, and last week's episode was great, imo.

Really enjoyed the finale, especially seeing Fauna literally strike out at George Hodel. A pretty brutal scene- mostly when she bashed his hand.

Yeah I thought this was a really solid show overall with a standout performance from India Eisley and and a commendable performance from Chris Pine. The real history behind this stuff is so damn interesting and the mystery aspect kept me engaged throughout.

India Eisley has some star potential if she can avoid more of those crap direct to video Horror films (I mean...I guess its experience to hone her chops...but come on).

Fun Fact: Her dad sang that song "Sweet Victory" that was made famous on an episode of Spongebob.

India Eisley was very good in this. Overall, this was just fine. I liked it, but I wasn't in love with it.
