for last month and a half the shop that went to to get comic was behind and i thought that they had just had a late shipment (it happens from time to time). but when they did get in the comics they would only get in maybe 4 of any one comic and some they didn't get any at all. when i asked what was up they said that the owners were haveing some money problems and that all of their stores were like this. and then today i find that they closed their EP store and only gave the employees two days notes.

i fear that they one place that i could go to get comics will be gone. but this isn't the only place that i can go to get comics there are some other shops about but they are far away.

man, that really sucks! you can always order them online, as s#!tty as that is.

if its any consolation, my comic shop is moving to the building next door which will officially make it the biggest comic shop in michigan.

its not just buying them its getting to talk with the guys that work at the shop about them. you know its you place when you can go there and spend an hour and a half after you pay for your comics just talking about comics. and i just don't get that with buying them online

this is true. im usually at my comic shop a half hour longer than i need to be, talking to the owners about movies and music. though, rarely do we talk comics, which is weird. either way, its great.

I haven't been to my comic shop since 2004.

I've been too busy working and haven't paid attention to the comic scene in years. I just need enough time to drive over, say hey, buy Cerebus 7-19 and The Compleat Moonshadow, and then I'm done.

Round up your friends and put on a talent show in your Mom's backyard with orange crates for scenery and costumes and dog tricks for donations and SAVE OLD MAN MAHONEY'S STooOOooRE!!

Hasn't this been the reality of comic book stores for least the last decade?

Brilliant. Mickey to Judy - Hey let's put on a show!

I hate online comic book stores, I like the feeling of touching and having the issue or book or whatever in my hands right now! :) I hate waiting.
I hope your store is okay

:csad: Same here... but my excuse is my little guy. I wouldn't have time to read and store any comics with him around... I just have to wait a couple of years.

Yes,ever since the comic crash in the late 1990`s.I still have a dealer, that i go to.Buying online or in person,i get huge discounts because of money differences.

Its sad to see comic stores closing...but that`s the reality of things.

ditto

there will be three people standing at the rack, two guys and me... two separate sales people will start talking to the guys, and leave me alone.. and then i'll say something related and relevant, and then they'll stop talking for a second, and then go on with their conversations.

granted, it's possible that they get an "i'm a pompous *****" vibe from me. w/e.

i don't think its you- there are guys that stand around the till chatting about movies and comics and stuff but they just ring up my stuff and i go
