Because you cared to know. Im not saying its creepy, but her perception could be that it is. You cant use your values when courting, you have to use theirs. A friend of mine just blew a chance with a gorgeous girl (who likes comic books). He made a joke about solving the homeless and hunger problem by feeding the homeless to each other. Turns out she is real big on social programs and such and was offended to the point of not wanting to see him again. Personally, I say good riddance.

It's not the end of the world and I'm not insinuating that you are any less of man because of it.

However, when you say stuff like "sex isn't everything" it means quite a difference from a person who has had it versus a person who hasn't had it. When one says it after having sex and then says it isn't everything, it's because he or she has a deeper understanding of it. When one says it before one has sex, it really comes off as someone who's just using a "sour grape" defense mechanism.

If you ever plan on having sex, regardless if you're a virgin, you should make sure that the other person has been tested. Even if she adamently denies ever having sex or never having a STD. She could be lying or worse yet, she may not even know.

Also you can get a STD from oral sex.

Then there's the risk of pregnancy, even if you use a condom or if she's on the pill.

There's a lot of responsibility to having sex. That's why too many stupid people get pregnant.

But maybe we are getting a little ahead of ourselves, you still haven't gone out with her. If that really is a date and not just "hanging out".
