We don't want anything. I think we were all just trying to warn you that being in a relationship is 'good' and that we are happy that you have one and we ARE glad you are in/nearly in one, but not to forget the big picture about where you want to go and what you want to do in your life.

It's easy to get tunnel vision when you first start dating, because it is great and a wonderful thing; just try to keep your head - women come and go, but your life is yours forever, mate. Don't put it on the back burner for her.

It's early days though. Just relax.

What the hell? I thought you were past this exaggerated emotional b1tchfit response you were prone to doing? No one said to ditch anything. Just advising that you set your priorities straight for yourself, as that is what's most important.

You can't handle a relationship with someone, if you can't handle yourself first. It's sound advice for anyone.

In any case, you can multi-task. Maybe this newfound friendship gives an incentive to better your own personal strife, whatever they may be. There's nothing wrong with that.

well, if you mean getting more in shape as a personal stride, then yes. I am trying to get in shape and lose weight. i'm doing more exerises and getting better now.

Create a situation where you can afford a relationship.

If your academic skills are such that you don't have your secondary level diploma (high school), attain it. And then get something that allows you to have a decent income.

If this girl means anything and she's quality, she'll understand and allow you to have the time to do all this. However, if she is quality, she isn't going to watch you piss your time at the Hype while you could be attaining needed skills that will increase your income.

That should be your priority.

That's because you need to go a step beyond just high school.

Employers expect more than that these days.

Unfortunately it's getting to a point where a master's degree is required for anything well paying today.

Try and see if there are any trades that you'd enjoy that pay well.
That's usually a good direction to go for those who aren't academically minded.

It's not the fifties. Hell, even a bachelor's degree doesn't mean that much anymore. You need a graduate degree these days. So I don't know what you expected your high school diploma to do for you, but you could at least go for a two year degree somewhere and get a respectable job.

In the trades, one doesn't even need two years.

You can start to earn a fair income immediately.

I know what you mean. A HS dipolma, even a College dipolma, does not assure any job.

Hell, I've taken guys with a HS dipolma over guys with a college dipolma when hiring for analyst positions at my job. You can teach people what they need to know, but you can't teach effort.

You don't need money to enter the trades.

I don't know how things work in Great Britain, but over here, you can get in on the ground floor of the trades by simply sweeping floors and a willingness to learn everything.
