I really did like Spider-Man 3, it's highly underrated. But it still surprises me alot of people didn't like this film.
Now they want to make a Spider-Man 4? I hear Raimi isn't coming back? Maybe not even the cast? Batman and Robin anyone?

No, don't go and say "well Spider-Man 3 was Batman Forever for ya" because it really wasn't. I watched that not too long ago and it was seriously no where close. Maybe in a certain way it was, but only in the way that it was some people liked it and some people didn't. But nothing other than that.

Anyway, back to Spider-Man 4. If they make this, who is worried it will just flat out fail? If there's no Raimi, and not even an original cast, it could very well be a Batman and Robin. I had a cool ass idea for Spidey 4 that involved Lizard and Scorpion as villains and they of course related to each other in some way. But come on, like they'll do my idea.:o

All I'm saying, without Raimi and the original cast, this movie is already going down hill. I thought Spider-Man 3 tied it all up real well, no reason for a sequel anytime soon. In quite a few years, yeah that may be cool. Just have a cool come back. I just hope if they do this, it's all good. Anyone else feel the same?

Oh, and tarded IMDB has it for "2009". Goodness.

I'm really not that worried about tihs film failing. I mean, as long as either Sam returns or there is a director with as much passion that Sam has for the character. Basically, I want this film to be put in good hands whether it's with Sam or somebody else. Also, I really think Sam, Tobey, Kirsten, etc, really made these films fantastic and they really were a huge chunk of this series so I really hope they return.

What makes me sad is that this is the first time since Spider-Man came out and broke all the records that we dont have, for sure, a Spider-Man movie on it's way.

spidey 3 was awful

bad casting in Tobey (i used to like him as spidey, then things turned very sour), Kirsten Dunst, the fool who played Eddie Brock (hate him so much i forgot his name)

bad writing. The theme was exactly the same for the 3rd straight movie, no imagination. Overall plot was poor. Who's idea was it to do the jazz scene? The "evil" parker walking down the straight scene?

bad directing. Why did Sam Raimi even allow the previous said scenes to exist?

i think ill leave it at that

Why is everyone comparing this to batman and robin? Move on, it was 10 years ago. Spider-man isn't can fit into the cartoonish realms if wanted to be.
Spider-man fits in the well context of any medium really. The reason why batman didn't work well in the batman and robin film is well because it was to cartoony/childish.
Batman is a dark character. Spidey isn't he's not taken seriously, all the time. There are only a few comic story lines that he is taken serious and 85 percent of the time he's jumping on walls cracking jokes in the comics. Honestly spider-man and 2 are the only spider-man films that exist. Funny thing is, i haven't even watched it since the release of it on dvd and yet i still watch 1 or 2 here and there.

I literally just watched SM3 and it really doesn't deserve the **** fanboys give it. The only scene which makes me upset is the dance sequence in the jazz club.

The rest of the movie played out like I hoped it would and each character was portrayed in a new way that still paid homage and respect to the original interpretation.

It's upsetting that so much time has passed since SM3 and we still haven't gotten official confirmation, but I really hope that the core three return (Raimi, Tobey, and Kirsten).

Dude It's not like im a critique and point every little problem with the movie, just from a film stand point it was a horrible film. My god it was worse then that show darma and Greg!

thats the only scene that bothers you?

you didnt cringe at all the peter parker sequences? the annoying nagging from MJ? The same old rehashed themes? how about the constant pull back of venoms mask?

You have an awesome looking villain and you pull back his face all the time? it was annoying

the movie had no imagination

what stopped this film from reaching Fantastic Four level was Sandman. If it wasnt for Flint Marko, this film would be at the bottom of the pacific

It's good to see fans stick up for Spider-Man 3 because it really was an amazing film.

well i guess im not a fan cause i dont like the horrible sequel to the best sequel in comic book film history

The uncertainty as to what they'll do can be stressful. Still, I'm not about to defend Spider-Man 3. That film ranks lower for me than Fantastic Four and Elektra, and I hate saying that about a movie based on Spidey. The more they stray away from that film's formula, the better. If that means I don't get to see another Spidey film until 2012, that's alright with me. I'd rather have a great fourth film than the Marvel equivalent of Superman IV: The Quest for Peace.

I loved Spider-man 3. Although,I was pissed about Venom getting screwed over. My thought about it is always this...I loved it,but it could've been so much better.
But,I do say that this news concerning Spidey 4 does bother me a little. Obviously, most people did like Spidey 3,but as someone brought up earlier,it did leave a bad taste in alot of people's mouths. Take that, along with the fact that Raimi and the cast may not return and Spidey 4 has alot to live up to. Plus,if you'll notice every film has made a ton at the box office but at the North American box office each film's profit has gone down. Spider-man made over $400 million,Spider-man 2 made about $380 and Spider-man pulled in $330.

I'm not gonna stick up for the film either. Spider-Man 3 introduce too many characters and storylines. If the filmed had been stretched out into two movies, then it might have gotten my approval. But jamming everything together just made for an awful film. I keep telling myself to watch the movie over again, but everytime I see the DVD case, I get these horrible flashbacks of Tobey dancing and Kirsten singing.

spiderman 3 is a good movie, but spiderman 3 is an ok spiderman movie it should have been better, should have taken a little bit more time ignored the fans yelling for venom, and yes I was one of them, and made the movie he wanted to make without venom.

I think the main villian should have been the goblin, dont pass go dont collect $200.00 he should have been the villain, and Sandman and vulture are the two guys he hires to drive spiderman nuts.

I'm shocked that some people actually believe that if Tobey and Raimi don't return, they're deeming the movies a failure. It makes no sense. Are you trying to say that, Sam and Tobey are the only people on this earth that can ensure we get the best possible spider-man movie? If so, you are wrong and that is a fact.

I'm shocked too, there are always better directors, writer(s) and actor(s), especially in this genre. It would be close-minded people who can't see this.

The only main problems that were in Spider-Man 3 were these:

1. Sandman- Flint Marko's story was fleshed out but the scene where he falls into the particle accelerator those two dopey scientists say, "Must be a bird." Come on....if they're scientists they would know the measurement of volume and mass and they could tell the difference between a bird and a human being. I would've changed the scene and had it where the scientists start to go home and one of them or the janitor neglects to turn it off and thus Marko falls down and becomes Sandman.

2. The bad-guy team-up- This is where it became like "Batman & Robin." They should've gone with Eddie, disgraced and humiliated and now with his newfound powers decides to enlist the help of Sandman after reading about him in the Bugle and hearing about his entanglements with Spider-Man. He finds out Flint has a kid, sees them playing the park the one day, and decides to hold the kid for ransom. To me that'd been better. Still campy but better.

3. The dance sequence with Gwen was totally unnecessary but the one where he is strutting around, discoing about like he is John Travolta is comical and shows Pete is still a big nerd despite getting these new powers.

Hopefully Raimi will come out with a "Spider-Man 3.5" where these changes will be made. Otherwise, I think the film is pretty good overall. "2" is of course the best IMO with 1 in second and 3 in third.

Hmm.

1. Yes, the scientists were idiots. Possibly they were being rushed like Osborn was?

2. I didn't mind this too much. I just wish Venom got a bit more screen time and DIDN'T die.

3. Only thing that made me like the dance sequences is because he was strutting around because he just "killed Harry", got Eddie fired and "killed Sandman". Then in the club, he was doing it all to piss of MJ.

Eh... I think to answer your question for 1, I think it was a cop out by the writers. Either that or there was a proposed scene and due to studio intrusion they had to cut it. I just couldn't see a person of science just suddenly bat the eye at a mistake like that.

2. I agree Venom shouldn't have died, but I kind of after watching it sort of get why Raimi killed him off. It shows Eddie would've gone above and beyond to be with the symbiote. He lost his job, his "so-called girlfriend", and he lost his self-respect. This is the one thing he has left---absolute power but unlike Pete he doesn't realize that it is cancerous and manipulative. I think Brock had enough screentime but I agree Venom didn't and they should've gone with Venom ransoming Flint's daughter to get him to work with him. It'd shown Flint once again is pushed to his max and must do the hard, unlawful thing to save his family.

3. I guess it makes sense but why would you suddenly feel like dancing and celebrating after killing both Harry and Sandman? Sure, it's the suit taking over but to me he only did it out of spite, jealousy, and revenge on MJ.

There's another thing I forgot to address in my original post. Harry has her break up with Pete, then they get together, a love triangle ensues, Pete gets back at her with Gwen, then at the end of the movie Pete and MJ are what appears to be ok. Maybe she got that he was under the symbiote's power, maybe she didn't. I wish they would've had Peter explain that to her. Besides, how did Venom and Sandman know where she lived too? They should've explained that too like once Eddie got the suit he knows his moves, his secrets, everything.

Yeah he knew everything to her address to "tiger" obviously because the suit was on Peter. They should have explained that. Only fans would know this stuff.

I'd like for at least the cast to come back as I don't really care if Raimi comes back or not. However, if they still want to make this movie without the main cast & without Raimi directing, I'm cool with that as long as the script is good & it's not something lame. As long as they don't get someone who will introduce *cough*spider-nipples*cough*, I'm cool with a new cast and director.

I loved SM-3, especially since the Sandman & Venom were in it, even though that *****e Raimi didn't give Venom that much screentime.

I loved SM 3.

You guys really think with all the money these movies have made, especially the last one, that Sony wont do another, lol? It hasnt even been a year yet since the last film was released. I expect an announcement by this year's San Diego Con...
