It's too bad the Joker got killed at the end, I would've loved to have seen Nicholson reprise the role. Instead, we got Danny DeVito as the Penguin.

I would loved to have seen him reprise! I've always wondered how Nicholson's Joker would have reacted to Pfeiffer's Catwoman :yay:

It would've been better than seeing Danny as the Penguin, I can tell you that much. I will say that the best thing about Jack Nicholson's Joker is that he's the only live action Joker incarnation that really reminds me of the Joker from TAS.

Very true. I just don't think The Penguin should have been a "sewer-dwelling-green-goo-spewing" Penguin. I'm completely open to interpretation and reinvention, but some things are a tad too much. :funny:

So, how much screentime do you think the Joker'll get? My guess is about sum of Cillian and Neeson's screentime in BB. That's, what, a good 40 or so minutes, right?

There is no possible way that everyone will be pleased when a Batman movie is made.

Yep. You can't win it all. It just not possible with how the world isn't perfect.

And people think Nolan been borrowing scenes from Batman89 or have a problem with it? That funny, but didn't Burton borrow Batman or at least the story of Joker falling into the toxic chemicals like the comics? Nothing is original when borrowing something from Batman over the last 70 years. :oldrazz:

what if its actual paint and not clown make up? how messed up would it be if put white housepaint on his face?

remember that scene from blade runner when pris is airbrushing her face?

just throwin that out there...

Take away the permanent smile and change the costume a little and you have one of the best on-screen renditions of the character. Nicholson was done a grat injustice by Burton. By not giving his face freedom of movement he crippled his performance. That's why he was so good as Jack Napier, because all his mannerisms were there. But they had a guy who looked like The Joker should, sounded like The Joker should and had the acting muscles to pull it off. And they gave him a prosthetic. I've said this before, if there was any justice he'd get another shot at the role.

As much as it would have been nice to see Nicholson get another shot, I think it's completely out of the question now. He was pretty old when he played him the first time, but now I think his age would make it pretty hard to believe he could do the character justice.

Agreed. A geriatric Joker wouldn't work. But he still has that smile. Makes you wonder why they needed that damn "grinning machine" or whatever the hell Burton forced on him.

Honestly, when I saw it as a kid (I was ~8 years old when it hit theaters) I didn't notice the difference. I thought it was really his own smile. But then when I was in my teens, I noticed he never really stopped smiling. And his chin was all bulbous. Since then, it almost feels like the performance was cheapened a bit yet still was very memorable.

The costumes Nicholson wore were 99.999999% comic accurate, nothing need be changed about his Joker threads.

I agree and I love Jack but I find Heath's threads in the new movie much more stylish and less cartoony. But it's a different approach, Dorian Gray meets Alex:woot: .
I wonder how many different looks Heath will have (like Jack did) and I'm not talking about the disguises (cop, nurse etc...) ?

I'm looking forward to the Killer Croc/Scarecrow story the most since its Goyer thats writing it, he might tie it better with the movies than the other writers will with their stories. Though of course its hard to tell at this point.

Wrong thread, lol

woops lol

Damn I should probably limit how many tabs I have open :oldrazz:

I think I'm going to love Heath's performance more than Nicholson's but the main reason I loved Nicholson's Joker was because that incarnation helped spawn the Joker from TAS which is the best Joker we'll ever get in history, EVER. However, until TDK comes out, Nicholson still holds the thrown as the best Joker ever & best of all, his performance is my favorite performance of any actor portraying a comic book villain.

I think Heath's performance will certainly top Jack's.

I just, so far, prefer the direction of Jack's Joker.

Better than Colin Farell as Bullseye or Mc Mahon as Doom, you mean ? Surely, you must be joking:woot: .
Just kidding, so far my favourite comic book villain would be Alfred Molina in S2 and I believe that come July Heath will change that:yay: .

I dont think i wanna see something like this on the screen these days...

Say what you will, I think it looks absolutely terrifying.
