oh ya; that was a really weird episode. So you're turning yourself into a hot brunette, and taking advantage of the situation in your newfound shell?

This thread is 757 pages long- a little extra won't hurt.![]()

I want this Joker to be completely different from the 89 joker. I don't want him to be done with a perfect smile or white skin from head to two. He should look like a psychopath and not so clean and neatly dressed like the 89 Joker was.
t: )than his predecessors. Isn't the devil supposed to be seductive and charming ?I like that Heath Joker is more "handsome" in a way (for lack of a better word or FLOABWt: )than his predecessors.

That's why I used for lack of a better word. But you are right he is first and foremost a monster and it is the casting of an actor like Heath that probably makes him more seductive than previous incarnations, like I said before there is a certain dandy/Dorian Gray feeling to him and his attire.
Ledger the actor is, but I'd say his Joker is the most off-putting appearance wise. The dirty clothing, messy make-up, and especially the huge mouth scars aren't typically seen as handsome.

That kind of casting reminds me of what Hitchcock did with Psycho when he cast Heartthrob du jour Anthony Perkins in Bates' role instead of a fat middle aged man like in Bloch's book.
Hitchcock also said "the better the villain, the better the movie" which seems to apply perfectly to TDK's philosophy (from what we know so far or FWWKSF)
Ppl have been comparing Nolan to Hitchcock, I think that if he keeps up the good work, in a few years he might very well get there.
I think that Nolan could handle the Mad Hatter really well. I will say that he was portrayed pretty well in TAS (at first).
Well, I guess it's just me thenWhat what what? Heath was a very attractive person, but The Dark Knight Joker? A scarred smile, messy makeup, long scraggly hair... he didn't earn the nickname "Hoboker" for nothing. This Joker doesn't look seductive or charming at all...which is the reason that I'm not as fond of this look.
I do agree an alluring villain with charm usually works best. It's why I'd pick Bela Lugosi over Max Shreck any day. I know many wouldn't, but I would. I've used those two before in comparisons when I've said Lugosi's Dracula was the type that could convincingly lure anyone into his home just through charm. If I saw Shreck's Orlok I'd run away as fast as I possibly could.
Thing is...I don't see the apparent charm in the greasy Joker look that you seem to see.
t: . I see what you mean though and maybe Charisma would be a better word to try to describe what I am trying to say.
t: , I could see how someone could be mesmerised or hypnotised by such a creature.Gary Oldman was great too.Lee's Dracula also carried great elegance and charm. Orlok sure as hell did not.

In the pics where the Joker is cleaner looking (in the car with the henchman, or the promo pics manniped on the hype) I see a tall, young creepy clown and even though he is scary as hell and I would not want to meet himt: , I could see how someone could be mesmerised or hypnotised by such a creature.
Yeah, definitely a fresh and original take on an icon, a bit like what Heath and Nolan are doing with TDK.Oldman's 100 year old transvestite in oriental robes cracks me up everytime I see it. Excellent performance.
t:ExactlyAh, I see what you're saying. That was a great picture, good point, that one really did ooze wit, charm, and evilness all together. I definitely saw the mesmerism in that one.
