Eh, I couldn't care less about the branding of merchandise. If you ask me, there aren't nearly enough clothes out there that are comic-book/geek-oriented. And of those that do, they're not terribly well designed.

If it takes a movie to get some Watchmen shirts and hoodies that I've ALWAYS been dying to buy, to come out....so be it.

For me, it isn't as much the merchandise itself. I'll probably get some of it. For me, it's the emo kids who've never heard of Watchmen before the movie that are going to ruin it. They're going to wear their Watchmen T-Shirts with (shock) yellow long-sleeved shirts, as if they're going for a freaking theme, and they're going to act like they're the biggest fans of Watchmen ever.

I know, because I saw the same thing happen with TDK. Sure, that had both a tragic death AND a character with black eye makeup, but still. There are emo kids walking around the malls of America right now, and they're decked out in purple and black, with a Joker shirt on, and they think they're hot ****, that they've always loved The Joker, and Batman in general. THAT is the kind of thing that pisses me off about Hot Topic's Watchmen merchandise.

There's a big difference between having a genuine interest in liking something...and having pretend interest for the sake of keeping up a relevent appearance.
