Look folks, I don't usually come to this board because I see a bunch of one sided jargon and everyone has too tippy toe around the borderline of being politically correct(lmfao, btw). But, I gotta vent. Hope it doesn't get me wrote up.

Anyway, the title of the thread says it all. Every now and again, on facebook, on the radio, at a fast food joint, at a gym, etc I overhear someone say how much they can't stand the United States, then proceed to run it into the ground. This happened when Bush and his one sided group was in charge, and now with Obama and his one side group in charge. And it happened again today.

When I hear this, I have to fight back the instinctive urge to knock that person's backwards hat/visor/indoor sunglasses off their head and go on a verbal rampage. Ya know whats so great about America, first off, is that you can actually voice opinions. Go to some third world, AIDS infested hell hole that still cannot build roads on their own despite funding and teaching from US and talk about how bad it is there. Prepare to say goodbye to one of your hands, possibly both. Barbaric, right? Yea, neanderthals still walk amongst us.

So, do I throw out the cliche "Love it or leave it" saying? I would, but geuss what, YOU CANNOT GO ANYWHERE. Why? You know how people complain that we won't just let anyone and everyone waltz on into the country? Geuss what, we are one of the easier countries to gain citizenship in and we have some of the softest policies regarding what we do with captured illegal aliens. In order to get into alot of the better countries in this world, you better be 25, have a masters degree or two, and be in perfect health. Oh, and some loot Otherwise, it's not happening. Does anyone remember when the Mexican President made a visit to the United States and felt like he the right to critique us on how we deal with illegals? Yea, that was rich considering Mexico what are possibly the harshest penalties for captured illegal aliens. Too bad the media, both liberal and conservative, didn't have enough balls to mention that one. Incompetent talking heads. Hey, Mr. Mexican President whom I don't have enough respect for to make I get your name right, maybe if you made your country a better place then people may actually want to stay there, eliminating the issue alltogether. It's just easier to pass your problems off on us though, right! General Santa Anna would be ashamed of you. Now go drown your sorrows in a Soaphilla, but hold off on the sour cream until you get busy correcting your countries crappy course of direction.

Who saved the world as we know it, not once but twice in World War's One and Two? WE DID. Who funded the restoration of Europe and Japan after World War Two, even though Germany and Japan had just been our bitter opponents? WE DID. Who has provided relief, education, and business to the world in order to make it a better place for last 60 years without asking for anything in return? THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. I didn't see Great Britian, or France, or the Netherlands, or Australia, or China, or Japan, or Russia, or anyone else donate the millions and millions of dollars in Haiti in their darkest hour. The United States did, and they did so with their own citizens, men, women, and children starving and in need of help more than ever. I take issue with that as well, but thats another rant for another day.

Now, I focus my rant on big business. Big business has gotten about as Anti-American as something can be. I understand that capitalism is about money. It's about making a profit. But these big businesses that go oversea's are killing the country right now. And the more we talk about stripping them of their tax loopholes for the greater good of the country, they turn around and threaten to send even more work oversea's. My initial reaction is too say SCREW YOU. My second reaction is too say, enjoy looking at the profit margin on the account balance report after this country has fallen on it's face and we are under the rule of some foreign led Authoritarian Government....or our Federal Government itself makes the true transformation into such an entity. Look, for the sake of your country, the country that gives you that ability to start off with a coffee cup and a pot to piss in, and go from that gold lined pockets, bite the bullet in the short term for the good of the long term. All the solutions that the "Powers That Be" have come up with in the last few years are band aids over bullet wound, short term fixes. As a country, we need to start thinking long term. And we cannot force these big businesses into change, because at the end of the day it goes against the principles of how this country was created. But we can make a human plea, and if that doesn't work, we ourselves bite the necessary bullet and boycott companies that aren't American oriented. Spend a few more dollars at the mom and pop stores until Wal-Mart brings business back from oversea's while also buckling your belt where you can so you don't go broke. This country is for the people, by the people, and it's time we stop letting the talking heads try to solve our problems.

And I think capatilism trumps socialism in that it is mean't to give everyone a chance at making themselves into what they wish too be. You gotta want it, but it can happen. It's also set up as a tri-pod(TheGirl Next Door reference, anyone?) Socialism/Communism is set up with two sides, rich and poor. Like your standard 16th-19th century folklore says. Robin Hood, for example. The wonder of The United States was that it is supposed to be a three-way dance. Rich, poor, and the middle man. And the biggest victim in all of this turmoil is the middle man. Everything I read, see, and newly minted regulation is about the rich and the poor, as the middle class erodes into nothing. No, welfare isn't middle class, so don't pull that BS. Prices for, well, everything continue rising. The rich can handle it. More and more protection for welfare/BELOW poverty level citizens continue coming into existence, protecting them. So, what of the middle class. In this case, it sucks to be the meat between the buns. The middle class has to pay these increasing prices, and at the same time they pay for these new social programs while recieving no protection. This will lead to the majority of them becoming part of the poor class over time, with some ascending to riches. All of this defeats the purpose of the tri-pod. The middle class needs a champion, and they need one fast.

Ok, I am done ranting. I could go on and on, but this is enough for now.

I'm sorry, I couldn't read through the whole rant, but how exactly did America save the world in World War I?

The Russians had pulled out of the war, and the French were on the verge of collapse. If you want to narrow that down to "saving Europe", that would be an understandable arguement. But, either way the Germans win without us entering the war and stopping them.

Europe, your welcome!

Just what the world needs... more hate.

It's nice that you've found a place to let off some steam, but I gotta be honest.... this rant was all over the place and more often than not, more based on emotion than on reason. It would also be nice if you could have defined what an "Anti-America American" is instead of just listing things that make you angry. Is it just anyone who criticizes America? Because I don't honestly think you love this nation if you think it's above criticism. That would mean that you're putting on the blinders and think there's no room for improvement. Also, please keep in mind that you're writing to an international audience here, not just Americans. Show some tact and respect for other nations.
Who saved the world as we know it, not once but twice in World War's One and Two? WE DID. Who funded the restoration of Europe and Japan after World War Two, even though Germany and Japan had just been our bitter opponents? WE DID.
Actually, I believe that was a team effort, hence the whole WORLD war thing. America's role was essential, but let's not downplay the importance of the other nations fighting the Axis powers. I also wouldn't brag about helping to rebuild Japan considering our arguably unethical use of not one, but two nuclear weapons against them.
Have you ever PAID ATTENTION to what good those other nations do? How the hell do you know what they are or aren't donating?

You do have some good points, but you're trying to cram too much into one topic. I also don't like how you try to put our nation on a pedestal by insulting or ignoring the accomplishments of other nations. Nobody exists in a vacuum... we could not exist as we do without the help of our allies, and even America itself was not created solely by the Americans, but with the help from the French and later on from our enemies-turned-allies the British, amongst others. Our nation itself was a group effort and we should never forget that.

You've obviously never taken a History course if your asking that question. Makes sense, the powers that be are trying too phase out historical teachings.

We defeated one empire that had run roughshod over it's neighbors in Asia(Japan), and we saved Europe's ass yet again, with an assist going to the Soviet Union. Great Britian would have been invaded at some point, which would have been interesting to see play out.

No I actually read a lot about military history. America didn't win WWII. And if you think they did, you're an idiot.

You do realize that by 1917, the war was all but won right? There's a reason America waited until 1917.

I'll agree that America was instrumental in "winning" World War II. It still took its time though.

America won the war in the Pacific, no doubt. But saying the war in Europe was won solely by America is one of the most absurd and disrespectful things i've ever heard.

It's the sorta thing some ignorant, racist "old boy" from the Deep South believes.

Not sure if that's first part is directed at my response. But I do say "instrumental". It's quite possible that the Soviets would have pushed all the way into Germany without America attacking from the West. Of course, even the French will agree that it's better to be liberated by the United States than the Soviet Union. And that would have probably led to World War III. But that's for another thread.

Go on....

Keep on whistling.

World War II in Europe was won by the Americans, British, Australians, Russians, Canadians and Resistance fighters from the Nazi occupied countries such as France, Holland, Poland, Italy, Czechoslovakia, Romania and Bulgaria.

Am I anti-American for saying America is going the way of the Roman Empire? Or just speaking harsh and sad truth. And remember...every great nation falls at one point in history. America almost fell off in Great Depression.

I have to ask.....are you complementing me, or are you implying that I made these facts up, i.e. "story"?

Neither. You can look up the "cool story, bro" meme on your own. :o

I've noticed that people who think their country is the best have usually never visited any other country. They wrap themselves in their flag and express xenophobic opinions in order to validate their narrow world-view. The truth is there is no "best country" or "worst country." Some are definitely richer and better-off than others. But every country has its pros and cons. And your ignorance is on full display when you rant about "AIDS infested hellholes." What do you know about other countries besides what you see on FOXNews? Have you lived in another country? I've lived in three (USA, Australia and South Korea). I wouldn't say one is better than the other. They're different, with different pros and cons.

I'm not anti-American. I'm not pro-American. The country is what it is. But Americans shouldn't feel superior to people from other nations just because they were born there. A lot of people get pissed at Americans because of that very arrogance.

The reaction to the Dixie Chicks was really quite astounding, especially considering how tame what they said was compared to what has been said about Obama by the likes of Hannity, Limbaugh, Beck, etc etc etc.

Yeah, I was reading about the Roman Empire in class today and it seemed INSANELY familiar.

Well, Rome didn't have a debt problem, as far as I could tell, but still.

Ignorance and hate only spawns more of itself.

Well they were hopelessly dependant on a foreign country(Egypt) for their grain.

Well wow... that was interesting. I guess... And I have to disagree with you Morningstar America was major in winning World War II. Really that is the point in History America gained global superpowerdom and really reigned for the next 50 years.

Sure the Germans butchered World War II, but it doesnt really weaken the point of how we took Europe as our sphere of influence after the war basically.

========
As for this rant... I just heard "Screw you", "Socialism is EVERYWHERE, OH MY GOD ITS OUT TO GET ME", "3rd World", "baaaaa I hate liberals", etc.

Sure its nice to get some steam off... but I probably would have done so in a less public forum... You come off sounding incredibly... for lack of a better term ignorant. (Which you probably are not, just not a better term coming to mind mind currently)

How do you feel about Americans who don't have many feelings either way towards the country?
