I have a Canon Elura 100 and a laptop with no firewire ports...

Question...is it a good idea to get a firewire hub? If so, why and which one...what are the pros and cons, etc.

what do you need firewire for? do have a camera with it on? If you dont have any hardware that its needed for whats the point....

So I can transfer tape to my laptop and edit it.

So far, I've been using the SD card,which is easier to get on to the computer...since I have no firewire ports on my lap top, of course.

If your question is, does my cam have firewire ports, the answer is yes, of course.

I'm wondering if the hub would be like plug and play...or plug and go...I don't need to install any hardware, etc.
